  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2017 -> 07:42 PM) He's repeating AAA and has a near 5 ERA. If he struggles the rest of the way, you have to try something different next season. He'll pitch this entire season at 23. Unless his body can't take being a SP or the stuff significantly regresses I don't see the rush to move him to the bullpen.
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 28, 2017 -> 07:35 PM) He's been as high as 95-96 according to people on twitter. I'm watching him now and he's hitting 92-94 with a slow Charlotte gun. Velocity hasn't been his problem. Hell, his first 2 runs in the 1st inning was off a guy swinging at a 3-0 count. 3rd run was off an ole defensive play by Delmonico. His stuff would be considered above average for a ML SP and he's made real strides in the last year with his command. We were all hoping he'd be Tim Lincecum when the Sox drafted him. That probably isn't going to happen. But it's *way* too early to start talking about him as a reliever, in my opinion.
  3. I'm still a Fulmer believer. He's struggling right now but the stuff doesn't look bad.
  4. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ May 28, 2017 -> 05:18 PM) How is Avisail Garcia not included in this? I personally don't think he'll sustain it, but I'm sure some here do. Different caliber of player, in my opinion. If I included him in the poll I think he would have been the fairly obvious choice.
  5. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ May 27, 2017 -> 09:55 PM) Hit tool just isn't good enough for Engel to think he'll ever be more than a 4th OF'er, nothing to get excited about. Probably a Drew Stubbs 2.0 If he actually becomes Drew Stubbs then that would be worth getting excited about.
  6. Moncada chased a garbage change-up to K in his first AB.
  7. I don't see him being traded, but if the Sox went completely scorched earth Abreu has made up for the trade value that Quintana has lost.
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 26, 2017 -> 08:15 PM) Haven't found anything. Maybe Matt can ask?a I personally love Willie flipping him and Basabe in the batting order. I dream of a White Sox future where Moncada & Collins are batting 1 & 2 and grind pitchers into the dirt to start every game.
  9. It would be nice to see Collins hitting for a higher average, but man, it's tough for me to worry about him when he still has an OBP near .400.
  10. Sure would be nice of Lopez either cut his walk rate or started getting more GB's. A (entering tonight) 11% walk rate and 30.8% GB rate isn't ideal for success in the majors.
  11. Fangraphs projects the Sox to finish with the 3rd worst record in baseball. The 2nd pick is still in play depending on how quickly they start selling off assets. http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Standings
  12. Very happy for Giolito. He seems like a player that's been searching for confidence so hopefully this is a nice boost for him.
  13. Pretty remarkable that he's been the best pitcher in the AL for years and still continues to improve.
  14. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 21, 2017 -> 02:11 PM) I don't think the super 2 stuff matters as much as people think. Especially for someone that isn't an uber prospect like Moncada, I agree.
  15. Very, very good news. Props to Hahn, KW, etc if they're able to pull this thing off.
  16. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 20, 2017 -> 12:03 PM) I hope he's not like the college football recruits with their helmets and hats during their "announcement" ceremony. If he ends up signing with the Sox I don't really care how he goes about announcing it.
  17. We're 100% sure that's his official instagram page?
  18. I think it's still too early to write Michalczewski off completely... but we're getting close to that point. He's going to play this entire season at 22. But at some point he either needs to cut the strikeouts or start hitting for power.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 19, 2017 -> 06:37 PM) Dunning ejected Any idea how this happened? Did he hit someone? Arguing balls and strikes?
  20. MLB RP leaders in K% (min 10 IP): 1. Craig Kimbrel 53.9% 2. Kenley Jansen 50.0% 3. Tommy Kahnle 49.1% http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=...=0&sort=7,d
  21. Kahnle's K% on the season is back over 50%. What a monster.
  22. Tim Anderson is so fun, man. His offensive numbers are starting to look normal-ish.
