Agreed. Mike and Mike worked and ESPN foolishly tried to mess it up. Well, they succeeded.

**White Sox SMOKE the Astros Game Thread 4/20/18**
As much as I'm frustrated with the team's current performance, the farm is on fire right now.

So it looks like Get Up! on ESPN is a flop.

QUOTE (ron883 @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 10:20 PM) LaRoche was a big dbag and a horrible player for us, so I don't mind the slandering of him. It's symbolic of the bottom of the 12 years of mediocrity since 2006. It's appropriate since SonofaRoache's posts are bottom of the barrel. He mocks the organization and the fans.

QUOTE (SonofaRoache @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 09:35 PM) What is his ceiling, and what is HeGoan's? Not to say you are wrong, I'm just curious to see what people think of their potential. Your name is "SonofaRoache" You don't respect White Sox players enough to use their real names. Are you on the right board? Do you struggle to type in "Cubs.com"?

2018 Films thread
Loved "A Quiet Place" more than "Isle of Dogs", but both were great. "Gemini" was okay. Covered two film blindspots this weekend. Saw The Untouchables, which was good, but not great. Lost in Translation, however, is one of my favorites now.

The Jason Benetti and Sox Announcing Thread
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 05:33 PM) The bigger Sox announcing issue is Ed Farmer as a play by play man. As someone who does it for a living all I can say is he isn't. He's a tremendous color analyst...but a play by play guy? Not even close. That's a far bigger issue than Jason who I think is fine and will get better with time. Agreed. The radio broadcast is just not good.

The Jason Benetti and Sox Announcing Thread
Maybe it's because I'm from out of market so I hear more, but there are just so many bad baseball combinations out there. We're lucky to have gone from the worst (Hawk/Stone) to middle of the pack (Jason/Stone). And, in all fairness, Jason is going to get a lot better. He's such a hot commodity in sportscasting right now

1st Homestand weather
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 11:47 AM) They would totally agree with it if you made the active roster size 27 to support it. Just make it 30 and be done with it

1st Homestand weather
The MLB is so stupid for starting baseball so early.

How the Sox are trying to perfect tanking
QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 10:52 AM) Catchers have been surprisingly affordable on market, I'm okay that we'll find what we need there. Granted sox have been horrible at pro scouting catchers (to perform while a white sox I guess) It seems like in today's game, if you're a hitting catcher you become a first baseman. Maybe that's deflating the price of a catcher?

**Game 3 of 162: Sox at Toronto**
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 08:45 PM) A great hitting 1B/DH? I’m asking for a top 10 prospect. Better than the Eaton package I think you can ask for the Eaton deal, but you might not get it.

**Game 3 of 162: Sox at Toronto**
QUOTE (Knuckles @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 07:49 PM) Jose can hit. You wouldn't know it outside the statsheet and on paper, but he's easily the best 1st baseman in Chicago.

**Game 3 of 162: Sox at Toronto**
QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 07:44 PM) Did I ask for your advice? Oh look, the Sox got out of it. Don't worry, there will be plenty more situations for you to get sour about.

**Game 3 of 162: Sox at Toronto**
QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 07:42 PM) Yeah because that's what I said. Maybe you should take a couple of seasons off while the team develops.

How the Sox are trying to perfect tanking
QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 06:58 PM) The teams that sustain success in football (without cheating) get an elite QB, pay that elite QB well, acquire good talent to put around him mostly through the draft, then keep the players they draft that are worth keeping. Usually the best teams have a few players that they drafted that are among the best in the league and are paid like it, and the draft is absolutely vital to sustained success. In baseball it's almost exactly the same. Yeah. Or they get an elite QB, build around him on a rookie contract, extend him, and struggle to win with a good quarterback taking up too much of their cap.

**Game 3 of 162: Sox at Toronto**
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 06:58 PM) Stone tries to make a baseball point and Benetti makes a joke about it. Just awful Three years ago we had the worst broadcast team in the business. It was even worse back in '08. Man. Hawk/DJ. Yikes.
