Yeah, this isn't a sign of things to come by any means. Their pitching is surely going to be a team strength this year. What a crock. It is indicative of what's to come. The staff sucks and the bullpen is slightly improved. The team isn't playing like they are sick; they're playing like a team that sucks, which they do.

The issue is Callahan will likely now want to be the top paid nickel CB in the league, and I believe that will have to be in the $9M/year range. For a nickel corner and a guy who is hurt often, I'm not ready to make that offer. Good player, but I'd take Amos back over Callahan.

It's fine that Hahn missed on Machado and Harper. There are some great free agents in the next few years that Hahn can sign!

Providenciales was no joke. Grace Bay is the real deal. I've never seen water like that before, and even Sapodilla Bay was great. The locals were nice; safety was never in doubt (unlike Bahamas and Jamaica). My only two complaints are how expensive everything is and how terribly horrifying the airport & the process there is.

I'm agreeing with you And what if he was awesome? Right away people are defending the organization because "well, he might flop." He also may not. He's 26, coming off of a .905 OPS and has won 2 gold gloves. The odds are that he continues to improve and play great ball.

No, he's wrong. That signing sells tickets. That signing energizes a fan base. That signing makes future signings on A+ free agents more doable. It changes the course on the entire future of the organization.
