  1. New Woj Article http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AnNk...reeagency070410 Basic gist of what he says is that Wes has been shoved out of the decision making process, seems like Lebron is going to make the call on his own. Woj seems to think he is leaning towards staying in Cleveland, especially if all of his Cleveland gladhanding buddies get to stay "local celebs". This whole situation feels like a real handjob if you will pardon the expression, Bulls should turn towards Boozer or Bosh then Wade and just sign who wants to sign here now.
  2. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 06:22 PM) Of course, that came from Bucher. I'm not sure what he is reporting is entirely correct. What he is saying may be factually correct from the standpoint that WWW is not attending these meetings between James and the interested teams. However, that doesn't mean he is not speaking with Lebron or other members of his party. Seems like Ric is simply taking the idea that WWW is not at the meetings to mean he is out. He may be correct, but it seems as if just because the constant rumors reportedly leaked by Wes have stopped, does not mean he isn't still talking to James and giving him instructions. Time will tell the story.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) Why not let CQ or Castro hit for AJP? I was thinking the same thing, why can't Carlos bat for AJ if they are going to play this lefty-righty nonsense.
  4. Wojo updated his story on Wade, says he isn't ready to say yes to the Bulls yet. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AiTe...bronbulls072010 Chicago Bulls executives pressed Dwyane Wade for a commitment on Friday afternoon, but the star free-agent guard wasn’t ready to make such a leap to leave the ami Heat, a source told Yahoo! Sports. The Bulls were pushing for a commitment to arm them in a meeting set for Saturday with LeBron James in Cleveland. Officials will now try to work over James on constructing an All-Star free-agent alliance in Chicago. The Bulls and Wade met for a second time on Friday and talked deeper about what it would take to sway Wade back to his hometown. Chris Bosh(notes) joined Wade and the Bulls for part of the meeting in the office of agent Henry Thomas, who represents both players. There are scenarios where the Bulls could try to work an arrangement for all three players to join them – presumably engineering a sign-and-trade with Toronto for Bosh – but the most likely partnership would come with Wade and James or Wade and Bosh.
  5. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 12:33 PM) So Dixie has promised "major, sweeping fundamental changes" coming to TNA soon. It's been confirmed that TNA has been in contact with Kevin Sullivan and Paul Heyman to head the creative team. The report said that Heyman would want complete control of the creative team in order to join. Interesting.... Reports are that this "major" change don't have anything to do with booking. There's all kinds of speculation in regards to a new investor, moving to a bigger arena. Dixie said she told the presdient of Spike TV about it and they thought it was big for the company. So if she is telling the truth that would rule out anything regarding the tv show as Spike would be in the loop on all of that. Who knows. TNA always hypes things, which in some ways I enjoy the mystery, but most of the time it's a let down.
  6. They are in bed with Mattel now, that is apart of the reason they don't want blood anymore and naughty language. Rumor has it that Mattel complained about this and he was the scapegoat. As to why he was fired and not suspended for awhile, I don't know.
  7. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 09:28 PM) Hey guys, im planning a road trip from chicago to boston for the next ufc fan expo in august. I just wanted to know if anyone has gone to one of these before and can tell me how the experience is, and would it be worth the drive, and how does the whole autograph session deal work? Ill implode if Diego Sanchez and Thiago Silva are some of the guys at the expo giving autographs. The one they just had in Vegas over the weekend had Mir and Uriah doing some sessions on MMA. From what I heard all the stars we're there and signing, GSP had a 7 hour line from reports. Seems like they bring in all the big stars and make everyone accessible.
  8. Booker was just there for one night because AJ had plane trouble.
  9. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ May 14, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) I believe that is no longer true. Someone on this board brought it up months ago. There is a Q&A about this on the Tribune and Dan Pompeii said that they could just roll out grass on top of the field turf. He claims they do this in domes for soccer.
  10. Boers and Bernise talked about this on the SCORE months ago, and someone called up and said that they won't put in the turf because of soccer. That whatever governing body controls the international games played at Soldier Field doesn't allow the games to be played on that surface and only natural grass. I have no idea if that is true, but it would make sense as the Park District would be losing out on money if the soccer games were no longer held there. But who knows.
  11. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 06:26 PM) Why Mickie James? I'm glad they cut Shelton loose. They wasted him in my opinion. TNA only should call Mickie, Katie, and Shelton. The rest are meh. The story is that she was a pain in the ass on this past overseas tour. She was late for buses and was hung over. I guess she had been on thin ice since she got attitude once they demoted her to Smackdown.
  12. QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) Still just in the rumor stage, but it could get interesting: [courtesy Lords of Pain] -- With Russo’s decision to step down as head writer, there has been an escalation in talk regarding Paul Heyman coming in. Those within TNA, and are close to Heyman, believe he will indeed sign with the company. Heyman signing with TNA would come off as a surprise when you consider his past relationship with Bischoff, whom have both thrown verbal jabs against one another throughout the 90’s decade. Heyman mark that I am, I'd love to see him sign on - it would be very interesting to see if he could write storylines to grab the attention of the "casual fan" on a larger stage than ECW and with freer reign than Vince gave him. Meltzer is saying he might be coming in and Bischoff wants to do some ECW gang style deal. I have no idea how that interacts with Hogan, but it might be interesting for awhile.
  13. I finally got to play the game so more today. I started out by downloading the OS Rosters, thanks to everyone who gave me tips on that. It took me a few minutes to figure out where to go and how to sort all the available roster downloads. Anyway, I played just an exhibition game as the Sox vs. Philadelphia. I lost the game 7-3 or something like that. I had the hitting on veteran mode which I guess is one step above rookie which was a good starter for me I thought. Before I played the Phillies, I did the batting practice where you step in the cage and get 20 pitches to hit. I swung and missed at least 8 times, not good. Once I got into the actual game vs Philadelphia I did much better and got the hang of the whole deal. I love the graphics and all the little cut scene deals, everything seems so life like and I really enjoy that aspect of the game. The only thing that seemed to frustrate me was the base running. I noticed that there were 2 different options of classic and default. I choose classic setting, the problem for me came in that since I didn't really know the controls very well, I left the manual in my lap when I played. I opened it to base running when batting, and fielding controls when pitching. I kept getting confused when looking at the manual because it would have classic and default controls right on top of each other. Anyway, I just ended up allowing the computer to control my base runners and that made the game more enjoyable for me. It allowed me to still do manual lead offs and to steal on my own. In the game itself, Pierre got picked off 1st base in the first inning. What a start! I did hit a 2 run homer with Konerko but that was pretty much my whole offense until the 9th. On the pitching side, since I just choose quick start or whatever the option is called it had Peavy as my default starter. I started out decently enough but I was really wild and had trouble with the pitching meter. One small thing I really liked about the game was that the CF scoreboard updated during the game with pitch counts for the pitcher. Overall, I really have enjoyed the game thus far. Thanks to everyone who posted and made me decided to get this.
  14. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 08:56 PM) For my RTTS guy the last game I hit a walk off, it was belted. Went 450 to LF and he did a bat flip, jogged around the bases and then did a handshake with the guy who also came home from 2nd. Thanks, Train. Maybe in a future addition, they can add the thing Prince Fielder did where he lept on the plate and the players all fell down.
  15. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 07:27 PM) Yep. After Castro hit it, and it went out. They showed him jumping in the air going to 1st, getting a big high five at 1st, and then when he came home he ditched his helmet, and jumped into a crowd of Sox players waiting for him at home. It's cool. I appreciate you answering my silly ass questions, Joe! I'm just into these small little things that make the game as life like as possible. That sounds really awesome, hopefully I'll get to see it sometime.
  16. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 03:16 AM) Just had the most epic game ever. Game 4 of the season vs. Twins. I go into the bottom of the 9th down 2 runs. I get the first two runners on. I then get a sac fly at the CF wall that allows both runners to advance two bases because it was Pierre and Beckham on the bases, and the CF fell down making the catch into the wall. Cut the lead down to 1, and then scored on a sac fly to tie it. The game went into the 15th inning with the same score. Then Jason Kubel homers in the top of the 15th to give the Twins a 7-6 lead. I was content w/ losing at this point because it is 3 AM, and I have class in the morning. After I get 1 out in the bottom of the 15th, Andruw Jones steps up and jacks a HR to tie it. S.O.A.B. So then Ramon Castro comes up (he replaced Omar Vizquel who was pinch-running for AJ) and hits the WALK OF HOME RUN. I won the game on back-to-back jacks, with the replacement player hitting the HR. It was sweet. I am just glad the game is over and I can finally go to sleep! Is there any kind of home plate celebration after the game winning homer?
  17. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) No rain. I wish they did, but no. I think they have games that are played "after" rain, like you will see soggy infields and stuff, but not during the game. They experimented with adding fog for this year, but ran in to too many problems graphically. I think they are going to try and add weather for '11. Thanks, Joe. I don't know if you play Madden, but I love playing in the rain or snow and how the players seem to slip and slide while running.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 05:46 PM) It's called Franchise Mode. And it rules. Especially with this pitching staff... I was wondering if many here play the franchise mode. Seems like from the majority of the posts that people play the RTTS mode. I'll have to start playing this game a heck of a lot more it seems. I keep my PS3 at my fiancee's house, so I don't have access to it everyday sadly.
  19. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) For the Show, fighting automatically occurs if you have been beaned enough and it was intentional. They won't show the fighting though. They'll show the guy charge the mound and the camera goes away. For arguing calls, you're guy will automatically do it if he thinks it was really a bad call and then you get ejected. Happened in my 2nd game for RTTS. That sounds kinda neat. I don't need to see a full brawl or anything, I'm just fascinated by all the cut scenes and realistic things the game has in it. For everyone, does the game have rain? I've only played one game like I said last night, but it would seem like a neat feature to add in.
  20. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 04:19 AM) the last game ive played where you can charge the mound was the ea sports MVP series i beleive. If you got hit with a pitch it will pop up for u to press triangle to charge and clear the benches. also on bad calls you could press triangle to get ozzie out to home plate with the umpire to argue. I don't remember this, but I wish I did. I used to play MVP all the time but I never beaned guys that often.
  21. I bought the game on Saturday. I played my first game tonight against my brother in law and I lost like 9-0. I got 10 hits in the game but didn't score any runs. I liked the graphics of the game, I found the hitting to be a little hard for me. I'm pretty much a swing at everything unless it's way out of the zone type of guy. I found the base running to be weird, but I didn't have a grasp of the controls yet. One of the things that happened was I had 1st and 2nd and I hit a gapper to right field and nobody scored. The runners advanced one base and stopped. I liked the pitching meter that you use, it reminds of playing MVP Baseball. One of the funny things that happened was that time was called because a beach ball was in the right field area by Ichiro, that was a fun twist. A question for all of the long time Show players I had was, is there any kind of mound charging or anything like that? In the game I played tonight there was a few hit batters, and all I saw was the hitter jaw jacking with the pitcher, and the hitter stopped walking to first and started to talk to the 1st base dugout. Overall, I'm excited to play the game again.
  22. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 10:23 AM) Does anyone know anything about Josh Mora and Comcast? I heard a rumor that he was being pushed aside becasue he was critical of the Tallon firing. If true, sounds familiar doesn't it. That's an old story, from what I recall he was told his contract was not going to be renewed after he wrote a blog that painted McDonugh in a bad light as a control freak from. The Hawks are part of owner of CSN, so it was painted more like an unrelated item that his contract would not be renewed.
  23. Thanks Joe and Steve. I'm going to prob buy the game in the next few weeks. I enjoy reading everyone's thoughts on the game.
  24. Greetings everyone, I just read this entire thread and like someone else had to look up what RTTS meant! The last baseball game I bought was MVP05 for PS2. I've never played any of the 2K Sports games, or the Show series. I might buy this years Show game as it looks pretty cool. I'm going to be moving soon so I'll finally be able to hook up the internet to my PS3. I've always been interested in downloading rosters for a game like this. Is it easy to do? Can you just do it online via the PS3? Or is it something where you have to download the rosters via the computer then somehow transfer it to the PS3? Sorry for asking a stupid question, just don't know how it's done. Even if I don't buy the Show, I've be interested in doing it for Madden. Thanks! EDIT: I see you can download a roster off a site like OS and save it to a USB then port it to PS3. Or I see easports does rosters for Madden that can be downloaded online. I'll have to try this out.
  25. Fans love that free food 2k. You can just go there anyway, the people working have no idea what happened.
