  1. Boers and Bernsie were talking about this on their show today. Bernsie brought up that people he talks to tell him (take it for what you will) that there is rift between the pitchers and the offense. He phrased it as similar to a defense in football knowing they can't give up a touchdown because the offense is horrible. Bernsie said he was told he pitchers feel if they give up more than 2 runs in a game that they'll lose. Peavy mentioned after his last loss that it's tough to win when you only score 2. Coop got mad in this interview when Barry Rozner mentioned Humber had 2 bad games in a row. Coop was saying he had 1 bad inning in Detroit, but if they could hit and catch the ball it wouldn't be an issue.
  2. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) I think I got the Peavy/AJ thing, I rewound the half inning a bunch. When Peavy gives up that last hit, as Soriano scores you can briefly see AJ give the "get him out of here" yanking sign with his right arm and his right pointer finger extended. Then as he walks towards the mound, he's staring into the dugout just waiting, begging for the change. He basically showed Peavy up, and Peavy saw it. It started before they were both on the mound and Ozzie made the change. Can't really fault Peavy, that's not a good move by a catcher regardless of whether he should be taken out, you just don't do that. Good catch. My DVR wouldn't go back for some reason. I had the sound off and only looked up to see Peavy point and yelling back at someone and then they went to break.
  3. As per usual Hawk sounded pretty pissed off when Juan made his customary out. He couldn't sound any more disgusted.
  4. The Peavy and AJ thing is strange. It looked like when Peavy was walking off the field when Ozzie pulled him that he turned and pointed toward the mound and said something. Then when they came back from the inning ending commercial they showed AJ coming in the dugout after getting the last out and Peavy grabbed him and pulled him down into the tunnel.
  5. I wonder if they'd talk to Bob Brenly? He's looking to get back into the managing game.
  6. Horrible news. I'm going to pop in my DVD set tonight or tomorrow and watch some classic Macho Man while in his prime.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ May 11, 2011 -> 06:53 PM) Happy Birthday! It must have been since the "fun" you had awhile back with your account. I figured out how to unlock but, it I don't even remember how I got into the screen to do it. Facebook is so weird. I just post on other people's posts honestly. I have nothing to say on my own life lol.
  8. Thanks, Mike. I have no idea about the wall thing, someone else mentioned that to me and I have no idea what the deal is. I changed my privacy/account setting a long time ago, but I'm not sure if that is it or not. If someone knows please let me know. It should be fixed now. No idea how it got turned off.
  9. I think they are going to turn him heel now, but I don't suspect that was the plan from the beginning because they are weak on the face side now on Smackdown.
  10. Hope it was a good one, Jason.
  11. Great defense by Brent, thankfully the right field wall is so close there as it made for some easier defense.
  12. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Mar 10, 2011 -> 07:25 AM) Am I the only one who turned it on at 9CST, and it was half over? I was real confused. It said it was on from 9-10. It ended at 9:35. It came on right after the Red Sox - Orioles game ended. So it started about 20-30 min early.
  13. I'd have to assume that at this price he is going to be the closer.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 05:08 PM) The problem is they could be doing this stuff on the buses and trains right now, but don't. I can't tell you how many times in 12 years I have been stuck on a train, where not even the people running the train have any idea what is going on. I don't take the CTA but they do have an application, but it doesn't seem like it is exactly like what people would need. http://www.transitchicago.com/apps/
  15. I got out of work at 2:30 and it took me 3 hours to get from O'Hare to Schaumburg. My work may or may not close tomorrow but I plan on taking a personal day.
  16. I think the question is do you want Jenks back for 6 million as the closer for the Sox after last season? I certainly did not. The money is about the same, but I'd rather take my chances with Crain and having him not kill the team like Jenks would if he was the closer. We saw last year how much Ozzie didn't wanna remove him from that role. I don't want to take that roller coaster again.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) Great game and great atmosphere though I love watching games at the Garden when the Knicks are playing a big game. One of the best atmospheres outside of Golden State, at least from what I get to see on national broadcasts.
  18. Here is the funny thing. The Bears have said on the record they are worried about injuries on the field turf. Fine, then why do they practice on Field Turf at Halas Hall inside the bubble then? I understand it is an indoor facility and there are not a lot of options besides that, but you play 8 regular season games at Soldier Field and 2 pre-season games. Yet, I'm sure they practice more than 10 times in the bubble. Isn't there far more of an injury risk that way?
  19. QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 11:00 AM) Don't thank "Him" yet - Juan Cena was back in action this weekend at a house show. It seems maybe Juan will do the house shows, but not the televised Raws? That's been the plan. Since "John" cannot wrestle on the shows they can still advertise "Juan" as wrestling on the shows and of course people know what the deal is. I think they don't wanna do the Juan thing on tv because they are going to fly through this story line where Wade has to allow him back in the company to wrestle.
  20. It works well for me Jason, much easier to have all of the posts centered in one area.
  21. 3 Stooges routine now. How sad, I was hoping the Reds would win this series.
  22. I'm sure some owners would be all for it if they could get 2-3 games playoff revenue.
  23. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 06:59 PM) In whatever role he's ends up, you can sure sure there will be no hero-worshipping coming from 35th street. And perhaps, this will trickle down to the players as well. I haven't really followed Tony with the Cardinals, everything I hear about him is that he's a bit of a jag. Which in someways Ozzie is as well, but I think the team does need a shake up like this to take on Minnesota.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 05:33 PM) In a heartbeat...there is nothing that Ozzie does anymore that can be considered above average. I guarantee you that at least LaRussa would manage like we're an AL team. I'm also sick and tired of Ozzie's teams fading down the stretch. I'm fairly certain that based off his reputation that he'd make sure some Twins players went down next season. He certainly wouldn't be kissing Garenhire's ass.
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 13, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) Bulls named Michael Reinsdorf President and COO. This actually may be a sign of things to come with the Sox. I know JR has stated he hope his children wouldn't want to follow in his footsteps, but Michael always has, and it appears JR is grooming him to take his spot eventually. I figured something had to be up with him when I saw him as part of the "team" try to recruit LeBron. I heard this around 3pm today and I was wondering if people would start to wonder about how this effects the Sox.
