Sportscenter claimed Yankees have made the most generous offer to Maddux at the same negotiations Cubs, Giants were part of. Interesting to note the Yankees have not had a starting left handed pitcher since 1992.

Sportscenter has teased the issue of a future hall of famer "not named rodriguez" joining the Yanks. Interesting to see if they say anything new about the Maddux situation.....

How can Cashman not be interested in Maddux? I wish the Yanks would just buy his soul and get him out of our newspapers. Then I can laugh when the Chicago media b****es at the Cubs for not increasing their offer.

f***ING GENIUS. There are no difference between that scholarship and ones offered to minorities. I would love to hear valid arguments against this, because they are essentially proving that affirmative action is disqualifying students soley to ensure racial balance in our colleges. Heres a great plan: how about you accept students based on academic achievements and not a cute-politically motivated plan to have an equal representation of races. UIC must get off to affirmative action, because our school is nationally known as one of the most diverse schools in the nation. God knows they will never want to tarnish that label...

True. Who (without any biasm) can deny that SSI gets unfairly treated around here? In a recent fight, he is told to "be a man" and end the argument....despite how the other person is grown ass adult who should be given the same discretion. Because someone personally knows mods on this board should not mean they get preferential treatment. JimH noticed himself how SSI did nothing wrong on the Robert Person thread except disagreeing with a fellow member. Like that never happens. It began a simple baseball argument that reached onto a personal level. And when SSI tried to solve the problem with a mod he is called out, again! I will have no problem in backing up SSI, even if it means fellow members/mods disliking me.

It does seem that way. Last year I was at the Sunday Night Baseball Game of the Week where we lost to Seattle. It was a torrential rain fail, and there were several lightening bolts that struck a block or so from the park. Adding to the pain, Bartolo colon gave up a f***ing bomb to Ichiro.....a guy who hits 10 home runs a year.

Odd how th original comment was made from a person who believes personal information (Frank not returning phone calls)should be kept from the public. I don't know about any of you, but I don't spend time spying on other members to see what area of the site their in. Are you a Sox fan? Do you even live in Chicago? If you do, you should know the inner city rivalry we have between each other. Sorry if it seems I'm insulting the Islamic religion here, but it seems so ridiculous that a pile of LARD can ward off suicide bombers. But if this simple solution solves the problem, why not? Picture Israelis carrying around super soakers full of lard instead of guns. Reminds of the movie "Lost Boys," where Corie Feldman and the other vampire hunter are filling up water pistols in a tub full of garlic/holy water. Although I would personally recommend water balloons; lard is too thick to shoot out of a plastic gun.

(; ) Even those who are sensitive to this issue can hopefully distinguish the difference between a JOKE and a deragtory statement. I've seen numerous Simpsons episodes where they have made similar quotes and nobody was complaining. CRenaming Quebec streets "Quebecqueer Street" and "Rue des Pussies" wouldnt of been funny by itself, except that Canada is SO pissed off about it. Odd thing to say, considering Conan was in Toronto to help tourism after the SARS outbreak. Obviously I don't believe Quebec is gay or full of pussies, but when people take offense to something so trivial it becomes humorous. Comprende?
