I didn't watch yesterday, but from what I'm hearing we put Acuna at SS and he missed a play that Colson probably could have made. And this cost is the game. Bonemer hit 18 home runs in 61 games in A+. His strikeout rate wasn't even that egregious given his age. The guy is going to be an absolute stud. They're still playing him at SS pretty regularly. He probably ends up at 2B, 3B or the corner OF. The guy has 40 HR power.

A team winning doesn't automatically mean the manager is "great". They won because their pitchers were basically unhittable.

That just means our players have performed well in pinch hitting opportunities. That doesn't mean Venable has made sound pinch hitting decisions. The players have saved his ass.

It seems like the players really like him and it's hard to argue with the production, but some of his in-game managing is full of bone headed decisions IMO. Bunting. What more needs to be said? The guy fucking loves the bunt. We all know how stupid that is in this day and age. It needs to happen less. Pinch hitting and defensive subs. I don't always agree with his pinch hitting and when he does it. Then his defensive subs make our defense actively worse. Just look at the defense at the end of today's game. Insisting that one of the best defensive shortstops in the game constantly play 3rd base. I don't know that I've ever seen something like this. We have one of the best defensive shortstops in the game. Why do we constantly find reasons to move him off SS? Bullpen management. I get that it's easy to backseat management the bullpen, but I'm not a big fan of his management. If this team wasn't winning I think a lot of us would be calling for his head.

Yeah, some of Will's decisions are really head-scratchers for me.
