Burdi removed from AFL "general fatigue"
Anybody aware how long it takes guys to get their velocity back after TJs, typically? Obviously it isn't a guarantee.

White Sox Hiring for Analytics Department
I don't let bias or emotion get in the way of my views, opposite of what many people do here with Jose. My objectivity is probably a plus in this profession.

Sox acquire LHP Manny Bañuelos for Justin Yurchak
I get it man, don't want to make a bet you will lose. I don't need your justification for it. It's all good. I wouldn't want to bet with me either.

No bet was ever agreed upon. I made a proposition. We didn't agree to terms or anything (ban length, specifics of the bet). You're acting like I went back on an agreed upon bet. That is not the case. I backed out before it was finalized. It's ok though. I know I would win this one.

Your Offseason Plan
Would it be ok for me to rip on Yuri Gurriel's haircut circa the 2017 world series if the Sox were thinking of signing him? That was such a bad hair style. Just awful.

I'm calling it, this dude will be a good bullpen piece. Lefty with a mid 90s fastball. I think this is the year where Hahn's stockpiling of bullpen pieces will start to pay dividends.

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
POTW during the slow offseason time isn't anything to brag about

The stakes of getting banned are too high. This isn't a bet I'm willing to take knowing our FO.

The stakes are a bit too high on this one. Our front office is simply too unpredictable, and I just don't trust them to make the right choice. Non-tendering him may be the right decision as it can free up more money for Machado or Harper. Don't trust the FO to make the right decision? No. Sorry, but the bet is off.

It'll have to be on better terms and conditions. I'm not confident in my chances if it is strictly based on being non-tendered or not.

Going from ~30m to ~50m for the first year of a contract with opt outs IS a big deal honestly. That's a lot of money.

Your Offseason Plan
I would not be happy if the Sox signed a gold glove 3B and played him at 1st base

You don't know that. An extra 16-20m on the first year is big-time money.

Any favorite Ozzie moments or quotes? I love when he would talk about the rats in wrigley field.

Jose is projected to make 16-20m in arbitrary, from what I have seen. This is a lot of money that could be added to a frontloaded contract for Machado or Harper. Jose can produce at a slightly above average rate for a 1st baseman. The question is, is it worth it tendering him? Is the drop-off in production that Davidson and palka offer worth the money that can be spent on a superstar? Furthermore, Jose has been proven to be unreliable when it matters. The guy is about as unclutch as can be. He is getting a year older, and I doubt his defense gets any better (it probably gets even worse) With his drop-off in stats last year, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets even worse. Do the Sox tender him or let him go and spend on Machado/Harper?

The Moncada / Madrigal Situation
I think his ceiling is highest at 2B. He has some great potential there defensively. I get we have Madrigal, but we have plenty of CF options. Robert, LuGo and basabe have chances to play there.
