Shysocks mentioned this in the miscellaneous thread, but I think this deserves it's own thread. These are amazing. https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/692760769218236416

2015-16 NHL thread
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 10:30 AM) Nfl should adapt that rule. 1 game out of 82 isn't that big of a deal. 1 game out of 16 is pushing the line. No way you could do that in the NFL with the amount of games they play.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 03:36 PM) Tiley is overseeing the Australian Open right now. The constant delays make sense that he'd be the hire. Eh disagree, we were all told from the beginning that the AD would be hired at the end of January/beginning of February.

QUOTE (chisox802 @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 12:24 PM) I have been saying this now for a week or two.... I think we will have to give up a little more than just EJ, but this is what I think should be done. I would target Dickerson and then sign Latos or Fister. Just my 2 cents. Of course we can't bank on his health, but from what has been out there a few times, Jacob Turner could make the rotation if he is healthy.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) Ugh, I shouldn't really be shocked/disappointed by anything with Illinois football athletics but damn, I'm so sick of this s***. Still don't have an AD, entirely botched the football coach hire, basketball is an embarrassment, Cubit then extorts us and pays his DUI son $450k, recruiting in both sports is down, and so on. Can we please, please just hire someone competent for the AD position and get things back on track? Seriously, I would start donating if we did just to show support. I think if Whitman is the hire, he will be a very good hire.

Jeremy Werner @JWernerScout 50m50 minutes ago So with Neal gone, I'd project spring 2-deep at LB : - MLB: Tre Watson - WLB: James Crawford - SLB: Mike Svetina? Julian Jones if on team Illinois also missing 6 of it's top 7 tacklers from last season. Barton the only one returning.

Thoughts on Corey Dickerson? Rosenthal tweeted out this morning that some in the game think he's the most likely of the Colorado OFers to go. Rays are involved. Could come cheaper than the others as well. What would it take to get him?

White Sox interested in SS Ian Desmond
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 09:31 PM) When you have to use 1/2 season stats to justify major investments, it kind of makes my point. Not to mention Desmond's defense is less than exemplary. I wouldn't have gotten either one of them. And a bad 2nd half wasn't the only reason I didn't want Frazier (bad splits; Sox terrible historical track record with NL sluggers; we had 3B hole filled adequately; Frazier cost 3 good ML ready prospects). Not getting one of the big 3 OF is a big miss. If we take Hahn at his word that he wants to build this org. so it consistently wins, you have to use the FA market, esp. one who wouldn't cost a draft pick. And when KW puts forth this artificial 3 year window, which is now year 2, when OF was as big a problem as 3B (bigger defensively last year), and yet they let these players pass, it speaks loudly of lack of coherent front office strategy. Desmond has the last 3 1/2 years to justify a major investment in him. Keep skewing facts to fit your narrative though.

Baseball America White Sox top 10 list
QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 08:03 PM) Many see his ceiling as a reliever, so he won't be ranked very high. Was Montas ranked high on BP? I think a lot more view him more as a reliever than Fulmer. What about Tyler Jay? He barely even started in college. Fulmer has proven a lot more in college than a lot of these top 100 prospects.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 07:14 PM) They won't let him walk, that is moronic. I think they want to make sure they have depth and never have to go out there with Bellamy, Mariani and Meredith ever again I agree that it would be moronic. Mariani was at least average as a WR when given PT. I don't like him either but he outperformed the other two. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) Bellamy and Mariani can eat a shoe, but I have a soft spot for Meredith. I'd be fine with him being the last receiver. But I agree with your point. WR depth is a good thing, and we need it. I don't see how Meredith makes the team. Did he play ST? I don't think he did, Bellamy was at least a decent gunner
