  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 06:05 PM) I only know him as a good recruiter but he's clearly had good success with RBs Regardless, the Bears staff looks to be pretty damn solid and experienced. Btw, John Hoke (former Bears DB coach) is now the DC at South Carolina
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 03:52 PM) Fish was one I eliminated at the last minute. I had other guys I almost put in there too, like Danny Hayes, Christian Stringer and Maiker Feliz. But I didn't want a giant list. I just added Austin to the article though, he really belongs in there. Very cool and thank you. Good job as always!
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 05:28 PM) Bears hired Stand Drayton from Ohio State, he was the RB coach for the last 3 years. Ian Rapoport @RapSheet · 1h 1 hour ago Wow. Big-time hire RT @ChicagoBears: #Bears have hired Stan Drayton as running backs coach; Helped Buckeyes win national title in '14.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 03:40 PM) I assume you mean Brett Austin, and dammit I should have included him. Never heard of Austin Davis. Fisher's odd. He's played all over, not just C. He was in GF for a year and hit poorly... returned (usually not a good sign to repeat GF as a college guy) and hit well, promoted to Kanny during season... then went to GF for a third year, and some more time with Kanny. Looks like in 2014 he was basically the victim of Williams nepotism. But the fact that he's been treated that way tells me the org doesn't see anything there. Leonards I know very little about, to be honest. Wow, yes I did mean Brett Austin. Austin Davis was a player by me who got drafted out of Illinois but never made it far. Sorry for that confusion. But yes, I think Brett Austin is an interesting name to keep an eye on. He started out really slow in Kanny, but did start coming around toward the end of the season. Also another name I just thought of, Zach Fish, OF from Oklahoma State. He struggled too in GF but was a decent pick and was pretty popular around here when the selection was made.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 02:16 PM) Anyone people expected to see here and didn't? Anyone on there you didn't know about until now? I almost included Danny Hayes. No one really surprised me here. A couple names I am interested in though not on the list is C Zach Fisher, C Austin Davis, and SS Ryan Leonards. Do you know by chance what the organization thinks of these kids?
  6. Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 10m10 minutes ago The #Tigers hope Martinez will be ready to start season but realistically it may be late April or May
  7. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 10:28 PM) Via Kaplan, the Cubs are in on Shields... Interesting. David Kaplan @thekapman · 25m 25 minutes ago Cubs may be looking to add top flight starter to rotation. Sources confirm they are kicking tires on James Shields. http://bit.ly/1AutCKc
  8. Illinois ranked 45th overall on Rivals. I will gladly take that.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 09:44 AM) Illinis class sounds great. They had 5 targets going into today. Landed 4 of them.
  10. Illinois with a pretty damn good class. Could be ranked 5th best class in the BIG. I'll take it
  11. QUOTE (thegringokid @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 02:48 PM) Jeff PassanVerified account ‏@JeffPassan Breaking: Yoan Moncada is a free agent after MLB changes its rules regarding Cuban players. Story with details soon on Yahoo Sports. So if he's a free agent, are there still penalties in signing him over your bonus pool? Or is he like a regular MLB free agent now? Sorry I'm confused.
  12. So in regards to Viciedo, I believe the Sox have until Saturday to trade him.
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 10:59 PM) HHH Austin podcast is really good. Got really awkward when Austin asked about Chyna and the Hall of Fame. That got awkward. What was said?
  14. I think it may be Bryan again. I really dislike Rusev, he just doesn't do anything for me besides Lana. I don't think he's that good in the ring and he's annoying when he talks Russian. Side not, I really miss Randy Orton.
  15. QUOTE (venom4789 @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 06:36 PM) So unless i completely missed something last year i though abreu played pretty good defense at first, maybe i am wrong but why are people still saying he is a bad defender. He was pretty bad the first month or so, but from then on, he was pretty damn good at first.
  16. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 04:00 PM) Their catching situation is an absolute joke without Montero. Right now, their opening day catcher is Tuffy Gosewisch. A 9-year minor leaguer with a .239 minor league average. Trade them one of Flowers, Brantly, Kottraras, Soto or Smith!
  17. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 12:12 PM) The only commercials that got any reactions from my house: 1.) Budweiser dog - no explanation needed 2.) Insurance commercial with the dying kid - Everyone basically said WTF and talked about how they were just doing to get people to make posts/tweets/texts/emails like this. 3.) The NBC show "The Slap" - Our room erupted with laughter as we had no idea why NBC though this was a good idea for a show. What a terrible, terrible idea. Then we questioned what had happened to Uma Thurman's career where she becomes the 6th listed actor/actress on such a horrible pilot. That avocado commercial with the draft and caveman and animals. That had me laughing. That was a good one. Another favorite was the Fiat commercial getting viagra in its gas tank and getting bigger lol. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 12:36 PM) If there is more overrated comedy in the last 5 years, I haven't seen it. Pitch Perfect is amazing.
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) They finally made some good merch for DB. I want that T-Shirt. As far as tonight, pretty excited to see what the special announcement is.
  19. QUOTE (scs787 @ Feb 1, 2015 -> 03:14 PM) Very embarrassing, particularly this promotiin yesterday. I mean the venue was the size of a 2 car garage. This wasn't yesterdays show, but it was the same venue..look at this place. I will say that that Russ Jones fellow was pretty impressive and I could see him rising up the ranks so to speak. Probably not WWE or anything like that but he wont be wrestling in front of 40 people for long. That match doesnt do him justice either. We had some no shows so they had him stretch out his match and it was solid.....He's very Kevin Owens-esque in that he's pretty agile for a big guy. I don't know. He struggled picking up that pip squeak.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 1, 2015 -> 12:40 PM) He actually was pretty good his one season with the White Sox, although his all time great-like defense had slipped a bunch then. Yeah his OPS was over 800 with us. Of course the defense slipped due to injuries and old age most likely.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 1, 2015 -> 10:45 AM) You don't see any difference between being #6 all time and being ~#25 all time (which is where 10,000 yards in a career comes in)? Frank Gore has 2500 less rushing yards than Bettis in only 10 seasons compared to Bettis. Gore already has more receiving yards than him. Bettis has him by 19 in total TDs. Gore with a couple more 1000 yard seasons is a hall of famer in my book. One of my favorite RBs of all time.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 1, 2015 -> 12:25 PM) I feel I'd rather sign him to an extension rather than giving out more money to the other 6-7 guys available next off-season along with giving away our potential first round draft pick. Sign guys now while it is supposedly a weaker draft class and draft great in 2016. I agree with this. This draft class is pretty weak. Not so sure about 16 but considering we should be out of the bottom 10 next year. Go in with a rotation of Sale, Samardzija, Quintana, Rodon and FA/rookie, and that's a great rotation.
  23. Andrew Jones drawing interest from teams. Not saying he would be good, but I would like it if he was back in the league. One of my favorite all time players.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 1, 2015 -> 10:50 AM) Jim Duquette ‏@Jim_Duquette 24s24 seconds ago The agent for Jeff Samardjia, Mark Rodgers, told us "we owe to CWS to consider an offer" on a long term contract but ...realistically we Need to see " how it is " with CWS for a half a season, before deciding on whether to stay @MLBNetworkRadio Funny this is tweeted right after Rock says something. Could be the agent just playing hardball with the media.
