Moreso letting him burn service time while sitting on the MLB IL if they are indeed letting him just have some "personal time". At least option him to AAA.
Yep. Seems they've been hitting a few more homers lately, which should help at home. But yeah, I wouldn't be shocked to see Sox go anywhere from 9-10 to 13-7 on this stretch.
This seems about right. I could easily see Twins going 7-10 in their next 17, which would put the Sox and Twins even at the end of this stretch. I don't see the Cleveland matching 12-7 in their next 19 either, as most all of MLB has taken care of the Guardians outside of the Sox. As @Y2Jimmy0 said on twitter over the weekend, they're just a bad matchup for the Sox.
Twins:
@ Milwaukee (2) 1-1
@ San Diego (3) 1-2
vs. Detroit (3) 2-1
vs. Toronto (4) 2-2
@. LA Dodgers (2) 0-2
@ LA Angels (3) 1-2
For reference, the next stretch for Twins:
@ Milwaukee (2)
@ San Diego (3)
vs. Detroit (3)
vs. Toronto (4)
@. LA Dodgers (2)
@ LA Angels (3)
For Guardians:
@ Boston (4; good time to catch them tho)
@ Rays (3)
vs. Dbacks (3)
vs. Astros (4)
@ Tigers (3)
@ Blue Jays (3)
I think anything 11-8 or better keeps you in the hunt. But Sox need to make hay at some point, and no time like the next 19. I hope to see 12-7 or better.
When they have shown Robert in the dugout this weekend he certainly looks OK. Hope it’s we him back on Friday, and hope we can flip Seby for something semi interesting before then.
Does a Cleveland curbstomping today incite some movement after the Sox looking like absolute trash all weekend, awful management and finishing our ultra important 19 games against the ALC 9-10? If so, go Guardians.
2 offdays this week. Play your best lineup.
TA SS, Yoan 3B, Vaughn LF, Abreu 1B, Grandal C, Eloy DH, Pollock RF, Harrison 2B, Engel CF
See Tony!?!! It wasn’t that hard. Dumbass.
Sox probably have to go 1-5 over the next week to sell. They aren’t going to sell. Right or wrong, there is no chance of Hahn trading off pieces when the division is still there.
Robert is already locked up longer term. And trading Robert for Soto just makes this already awful team defense significantly worse. Soto is not a good defender.
I'd take Soto over Robert all things being equal for the next 2.5 seasons as well. But I'd prefer having Robert for 5.5 at his AAV than Soto for 2.5 for his AAV. Thankfully, the Sox won't be trading Luis Robert.
Doesn’t sound like Washington is serious about moving him. The request probably includes Robert. Without him i I am sure AV, Montgomery, Cease/Kopech, Sosa, Mena/Vera and Colas all involved. Just isn’t worth it IMO unless they can do something like AV, Sosa, Mena/Vera and a lesser 4th price.
