  1. TLR said Moncada could have played today but "didn't want to run the risk of playing today and him being stiff tomorrow" Also said he's happy to have Robert back, legs are good, question is stamina and "we'll see how he is tomorrow".
  2. TA said he's feeling no discomfort.
  3. He's not fully healthy. He has a calf issue that is bugging him. They clearly thought it was a day-to-day thing or he'd have been placed on the IL last Thursday, but its obviously lingering.
  4. Few weeks? Try 2.5 months. Cesar Hernandez was so fucking bad for the White Sox. He gave them no choice but to cut ties. Brining him back would have been awful. Of course, they decided to sign someone else who also sucks balls. But Cesar Hernandez and his lifeless style of play is the last thing the Sox need. IDGAF what his SSS playing for an awful 18-33 team says. Dude sucks and had to go. Every game he played for the Sox he looked miserable on the field, and as a teammate.
  5. Well, he's never appeared in the big leagues before so yeah, I'd say his 1.60 WHIP in the big leagues is more valid than what he did in the low levels of the Sox minor league system. Konnor Pilkington is just a guy. Fairly confident of that. But go ahead and gnash your teeth and wring your hands about him if you'd like.
  6. Pollock LF, Vaughn RF, Abreu 1B, Robert DH, Burger 3B, Leury 2B, Engel CF, McGuire C, Mendick SS I would flip Engel and Pollock and then move Leury to 7th and Pollock to 6th, but otherwise I can work with this.
  7. Sure seems like every ball hit in the air to the OF at home gets caught, and we are getting outhomered in Chicago.
  8. The guy with a 1.60 WHIP in the big leagues and minors this year? Pilkington is a dime a dozen AAAA pitcher. Could he become a backend rotation option or decent mlb middle reliever for Cleveland? Sure. But he's no one to get worked up about, even if that trade was far from ideal everyway you slice it.
  9. I think this team has much, much, much bigger needs than another really good SP.
  10. And Ron calling Jose cooked, only for Jose to go on a tear.
  11. Well we know Robert still isn't 100% per himself, and Pollock was also apparently under the weather yesterday. Obviously Yoan has the leg issue. So that's 3/4 bench guys yesterday, so comment is valid. Just hadn't heard anything about Leury.
  12. Conforto would be lucky to get something like 2 years $20M after the draft. Something like $5M for the balance of 2022 to rehab with the team and perhaps join the squad late and $15M for 23. I doubt he's doing better than that, so not really sure Correa's contract is remotely relevant here.
  13. Is Leury dinged by the way? Three straight games on the bench while Harrison continues to flail away at the plate is a bit of a head scratcher. If SS is Mendick's for the moment, Leury should definitely be playing 2B over Harrison most days.
  14. Somehow, Fangraphs still has the Sox as a healthy favorite to win the central 49.4% vs 41.4% for the Twins. This somehow improved from 47.7%/45.7%, respectively, yesterday. Perhaps the TA news? Seems like a strange swing in one day. 64.4% chance to make the playoffs included a 14.9% chance at a WC. https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds
  15. Really hoping the "good play" comment was with respect to the defense making a good play to get him at 2B. Not Mendick. But of course, this is TLR we're talking about, so common sense goes out the door.
  16. Sure. He’s just not a talented offensive player. Likely the worst on the club. He’s a big leaguer strictly because he can play defense well at multiple Infield positions. There is no good reason to lead him off.
  17. Let's win this one, please boys. Need to find a way to go 3-3 on this road trip.
  18. Mendick has 34 MLB PA in 22. What he has done is mostly irrelevant. Engel is by far the best option against LHP. Things a bit more murky against RHP, but Yoan is probably the guy to lead off when (if ever) healthy.
  19. In absolutely zero event should Danny Mendick bat anything but 8th or 9th. If Robert has to DH tonight and no Yoan, here is what I would roll with: Engel CF, Vaughn LF, Robert DH, Abreu 1B, Burger 3B, Pollock RF, Grandal C, Mendick SS, Leury 2B
  20. Definitely not opposed to that, but should definitely be a 2 year deal if they did that. They’ll need a lefty bat next season too. gotta wait til after draft tho.
  21. That one hurts. Another winnable game given away.
  22. I am in no way defending Grandals 2022 performance. He’s been awful. But he was worth his contract plus a good amount in years 1 and 2 of his deal.
