I suspect 5 of the 6 big guns will be on the bench. Abreu probably still in there.

The only guy Leury is hitting for is Cesar. He’s glued to the bench unless we’re talking late inning running/defense and Billy is the obvious choice there. We have 2 series to win before NL park games. Leury, quite simply, is better than Cesar right now. Leury is my 2B, but I think Cesar gets a couple NLDS Starts with Leury in RF, which is totally fine.

Bullpen blew more than a couple for him in that span.

Sox look good right now. I hated the play for most of August and September, but they’re clicking. Stuff TA was doing last night isn’t stuff he would even attempt last couple months. Robert stealing the other day. They’re getting ready to play their A game. Exciting stuff.

I think Hernandez was the plan, tbh. But Semien would be great and I’d be thrilled. Just hope to see Sox non tender Hernandez and commit to seeking something better.

While I 100% agree about not needing Goodwin and would non-tender him for even just $2M, I highly doubt he's making $5-6M in arb. He's on a milb deal and making the MLB minimum in 2021. I doubt his arb price would shoot up to $5-6M.

Last year on days when there were 4 games they were scheduled like this (in central time): 1:08pmCT; 3:37pmCT; 7:10pmCT; 8:38pmCT and days with 2 games were 3:07pmCT and 7:07pmCT.

ALDS games are Thu/Fri and Sun/Mon. NLDS games are Fri/Sat and Mon/Tues.

And one of the best relievers in baseball, and $20M (on half as much due), and picking up a garbage contract. So yeah....no exactly the same. Machado is tradable. But not without Padres eating significant $, or offsetting in some other way. Much like this deal you're point to. Arenado deal is a much better comp.

Interesting. Don't you expect the schedule to be set Sunday night / Monday am before WC games are played? Would be tough for them to switch game times on people a day or two in advance.
