So why should the Sox take on another poor RF, that is paid like a star, and remove their ability to use that money towards actually filling that hole this offseason? Taking on Charlie Blackmon in frankly any capacity would be an absolutely horrible use of resources for this organization.
Easy answer: you don't. These moving Moncada around ideas that get thrown here everyday sound great in a video game to patch holes. They don't work in reality.
My guesses on the deadline deals because I am bored:
Ryan Tepera for Reynaldo Lopez and Konnor Pilkington
Josh Harrison, Daniel Hudson and Kyle Schwarber for Jimmy Lambert, Micker Adolfo, Jose Rodriguez and Yermin Mercedes
Yeah I hate it. But he’s the best one they got other than Liam. They just need to sprinkle in a few starts and some longer outings. Hoping they do it - they know he’s a SP.
I’d probably prefer Escobar. He’s been better in 21, he bats left handed, is actually a 2B and he’d come cheaper. But Story would be far better than Leury.
Not sure why the Cubs would want ReyLo but Tepera is kind of just a guy, so shouldn’t be too much. Just think they’d want someone who is cheaper and isn’t a pretty much slam dunk non tender.
Yeah I mean I’m not saying I would send him out of town immediately if he returned something that improved the club. There is basically no way ReyLo can pitch well enough to avoid an offseason non-tender. But he was in fact looked decent in relief. Touched 98 last night.
