  1. I would be surprised if the Sox extended Lynn, and frankly, I hope they don't. Sucks he only has 1 year of control and that is exactly why I didn't like the trade. Hopefully we get the 19-20 version of Lynn!
  2. This. It’s really that simple.
  3. I completely agree with you here. I don’t think Joses words mean or should mean Jacksquat but Vaughn and Kopech both absolutely need to be in AAA to start the year. And that doesn’t seem to be the current narrative, and that is.....shortsighted and dumb.
  4. Grandal OBP all day. Yet some posters here will still be clamoring for McCann. Lolz.
  5. @raBBit we sure Jimmy is out of options? I thought he was too and that was the reason he was being passed around the league when we grabbed him, but MLBTR didn't list him as one of the Sox out options (Evan Marshall and Jose Ruiz) and Fangraphs also shows that he has an option left. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/03/out-of-options-2021.html https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/depth-charts/white-sox
  6. Average MLB hitter, can cover legitimately every position but catcher and CF. Switch hitter. Can fill in for a week or two anywhere on the diamond when Eloy and Moncada make their annual trips to the IL. I agree he's comparable to Leury, but he's a better infielder than Leury. I think he'd the perfect guy to have around as a bench piece. I also admittedly am not a Mendick guy, and don't think he's a major leaguer.
  7. Man just noticed the Red Sox scooped up Marwin Gonzalez for $3M. He certainly would have been a good fit on this roster for that price tag.
  8. There is really no good reason for Kopech to be on the OD roster. While you can make a "good reason" argument for Vaughn, I would also state that he should be in the minors until late April as well.
  9. I think they'll find room for Jimmy. Would be a shame to lose him.
  10. I've always liked Collins. Bring him in! I also don't want to lose Cordero, and I doubt the Sox do either. He has a nice arm, and should be much more effective when used appropriately.
  11. I think it's going to take some time for him to reach full potential. I am hoping for a .260/.335/.465 type season. I don't think reaching 25-30 HRs will be much of a struggle for him if he can stay healthy. The defense and baserunning will be spectacular. That is already probably a 5 WAR player.
  12. I'd bet a fairly large sum of money that Vaughn is up before the Super 2 deadline.
  13. I hope the Sox don't break camp with Vaughn tho. Get the extra year. We can make-do for a few weeks without him.
  14. Seriously tho, if Vaughn can adequately cover 3B and LF/RF that is huge. I love roster flexibility, and Yoan unfortunately is always going to be a guy that gets nicked up.
  15. Justin Bieber would be an interesting return for Vaughn. Replacement for Nancy?
  16. Adolfo isn't out of options. He generally would be, but Hahn has said multiple times over the last couple years that the Sox would get a 4th option year on Micker due to all the inuries.
  17. Probably not worth a thread, but it happened.
  18. Pretty much exactly how I feel about every single one of your posts.
  19. Grandal should be playing damn near everyday. Just has as he has done pretty much every season of his career. He was way under utilized last year, though I do know he struggled with back issues. Now that your loverboy McCann is gone, no reason Yasmani should not be catching pretty much all but the 1 or 2 day games after a night game per week.
  20. Or, ya know, they could have just ponied up for a real RF or ace...but yah. It sucks, but this team is still really good and poised for greatness. Just sucks to not see them take that extra step when right on the precipice.
  21. Precisely why Marwin Gonzalez needs to be brought on board. Can't imagine it would take more than 1/$5, 2/$9M type deal.
  22. It is a minor league deal, FWIW. Likely assumed, but just to clarify.
