  1. Encouraging game from Luis last night after the first 2 Ks. Hope to see it again tonight!
  2. I'd like to see Collins get another start today. He looked good at the plate yesterday. Wish Moncada could cover SS for today as I'd love to get Leury out of the lineup but I just don't see that happening. Here is how I would line em' up today: Eaton RF, Moncada SS, Abreu 1B, Grandal C, Collins DH, Robert CF, Vaughn LF, Lamb 3B, Madrigal 2B How I think TLR will line them up: Madrigal 2B, Eaton RF, Abreu 1B, Moncada 3B, Grandal C, Robert CF, Collins DH, Vaugh LF, Leury SS
  3. Happy to eat crow on Collins starting today. Nice poke!!!
  4. Sure, but I've held by breath everytime a ball has gone into LF since Eloy came into the league. So nothing new. I don't think its a stretch at all to think Vaughn could actually be a better LF than Eloy ALREADY. Grandal on the bench today makes no sense. Collins can't hit lefties. Use him tomorrow. Stupid.
  5. Yeah. I was 2012 grad. So quite spoiled with VERY good basketball. But yeah, Scoop is legit if you're into MU hoops.
  6. Username on MUScoop. Marquette grad -----> Frequent Soxtalker -----> figured you'd also a frequent user of MUScoop (Marquette bball message board).
  7. Marquette grad, eh? Me too. Whats your UN on Scoop?
  8. So it definitely seems their plan is to use Kopech and Crochet for multiple innings often. Just as they said they would. If Kopech is going 2-3 reguarly, shouldn't be too hard to stretch him out mid to late summer to make some starts down the stretch.
  9. I am far from a negative nancy. I am one of the more positive posters on this board. I am also not blind.
  10. Dude, we all want Robert to be a monster. He has the ability to be one of the very best players in the game for a very long time. But he's looked terrible at the plate in this admittedly very small sample size. 1 or 2 barrels in 20 AB isn't exactly impressive. He literally has no approach at the plate. Its just go up there and hack at 3 pitches and pray to make contact. He's taken 2 walks, both of which were impressive, but that's about the most impressive thing we've seen at the plate from him through 22 PA. I think (hope) he'll make the necessary adjustments and turn into a really good hitter. Hopefully this season. But to say he's had an improved approach so far in 2020 exhibits that you've either watched very few of his ABs this year, or simply don't understand what you're watching.
  11. I think Robert's approach at the plate has looked horrible through 5 games. I also only really recall him barreling up 2 balls (double in LA and a line out to RF yesterday), and the rest of his hits of been him legging out squibbers a couple grounders that found the OF grass. He still pulls off everything and really struggles laying off off-speed pitches low and away. He has taken a few nice pitcher's pitches - I will give him that, but not impressed with what I have seen from him at the plate so far. For this team to come anywhere close to its ceiling, Robert needs to look much much better at the plate.
  12. Just keep running him out there. Lol, poor Zack Collins - just can't catch a break.
  13. Looks pretty solid in LF to me. The at bats have been ugly, tho.
  14. It is far far far far too early to write off the pen. Injuries to 2 of our best 3 players....now that is another story. Hopefully TA is back by the weekend.
  15. You don't make a roster move for Mendick if TA is out for a day or two.
  16. My guess would be he's at DH on Wednesday when Collins is likely catching.
  17. Has there been an update from the Sox to indicate that Tim is anything different than day-to-day?
  18. TLR has already said Vaughn and Yemin are playing the next two days. So I would assume that means Vaughn is in LF next two days unless Yermin is catching one of those days.
  19. Ok? Mendick may be on the taxi squad, but he's far from a solution for this team.
  20. Yeah, its rough. I mean the reason is obvious - they're playing on the west coast. But these 910pm starts the next two nights are gonna make for a rough Tuesday and Wednesday.
  21. Well, he certainly has a place on the team right now. He's legitimately may be their best option in LF at the moment., and only backup at SS and 2B. Leury is a more than competent bench piece. He is not a guy that is going to fare well with everyday at bats.
  22. I said he had multiple opportunities to pinch hit for Leury and Hamilton throughout the series. Was not referring to last night with respect to Leury.
  23. There were multiple times in this series with Leury and Hamilton had big PAs and were natural pinch hit spots. Didn't happen once.
