  1. I am quite confident the Sox will be paying Moncada more over the next 4 season than they would have via the arb process. He wasn't making $41M the next 4 years. But its really about the 2 extra years of team control, 1 of which is an option. Awesome deal for both sides - glad it got done!
  2. No. There is a $5M buyout on the $25M option in 2025.
  3. Yah, thanks for breaking it down like that. Definitely worth noting. But July lands in the 2nd half, and his 2nd half line was was .226/.281/.413 and his career numbers are .247/.297/.387. I like McCann. I think he makes a fantastic backup that frankly is a bit of luxury. But there is no point in just punting him off for minimal return.
  4. Yah, well...such is life I guess. Guy was non-tendered by one of the worst teams in baseball 15 months ago. Sure he had a nice 2019, but it was largely inflated by a great 3 months to start the season, and he was basically the guy he'd always been the 2nd half. I feel for the guy a bit, but this is the way things go in professional sports sometimes. He'll be fine.
  5. I don't think McCann returns much, and Collins/Mercedes are more gadget/third catchers, so I'd hold onto him. McCann isn't going to create a clubhouse stir.
  6. Seeing as though he spent the second half of last season in Birmingham, I HIGHLY doubt they send him to WS.
  7. I guessed $7M, so yah sounds about right.
  8. I would have bet alot of money that Moncada would have been closer to $6M than $11M in his arb1 season.
  9. Comical, but completely unsurprising content.
  10. Moncada would not have gotten $11M in his arb 1 season unless he won an MVP in 2020.
  11. Bryant was a super 2, so that makes an enormous difference. Yoan is making $600k this year. The most generous arb1 raise would be to like $7M, then arb2 to like $12M, and arb3 to like $18M. That is $37.5M assuming he's an absolute stud. Now he's guaranteed $70M over 5. This is not bad for Yoan no matter how much you want to try to spin this negatively.
  12. Agreed. He was probably going to make like $30M the next four seasons. Now he's guaranteed $70M over 5. Seems pretty good to me. Edit: 2020: $600k, arb1: $6M: arb2: $9M; arb3: $15M
  13. Sooo updated guess: $5M signing bonus. 2020: $3M 2021: $8M 2022: $12.5M 2023: $16.5M 2024: $20M 2025: $25M option ($5m buyout)
  14. So ahhh looks like my projections that got torched here for here too conservative were actually on the high side.... Back on Feb 24 guessed the following: $5M signing bonus. 2020: $1M 2021: $5M 2022: $10M 2023: $14M 2024: $18M 2025: $20M 2026: $22M That is 7/$99M guaranteed.
  15. Right - so you injured in yourself and had to retire from rec league sports and now all of a sudden are a mental and physical health expert. Got it. I've said it before, I am not counting on anything from Burger. But the gross generalizations, assumptions and passing along of false information from you in this thread like you actually have a clue what is going in with Burger's rehab are a fucking joke.
  16. You just keep digging the hole deeper. You are coming off as real jackass and frankly should probably just refrain from commenting on this any further.
  17. Yah, rather he is out vacationing, partying, blowing his signing bonus and getting involved in drugs. -per chitownsportsfan
  18. He's been making embarrassing and completely uninformed comments as they relate to Burger since this thread was formed.
  19. @BFirebird look at your PMs.
  20. BA, look at your PMs.
  21. Yet, you continue to cast more and more judgement with every post.
