  1. I know Lip is a respected historian of the game (and good on him for that), but he lacks fundamental understanding of simple things in today's game. His comments are not even worth reading.
  2. Yah, the Micker comment was more in general - not just with respect to Diaz. I just wouldn't trade him right now unless its the piece that gets us a controllable SP with TOR potential or a legit RF for the foreseeable future.
  3. Micker is the one guy in the org outside of the obvious (Kopech/Cease/Gio/Eloy/Madrigal/Yoan/Robert/Vaughn) that I am not moving unless we're getting a controllable star. Micker has been an enigma, but he has as high of an upside as anyone in our system outside of Robert. The guy could be a star in this game. DO NOT TRADE HIM AT HIS LOWEST VALUE!
  4. Tough to really pinpoint exactly how much the Mets gave up for Diaz with all the big contracts that moved around in that deal.
  5. Big fan of stoney. Not sure how you could not like him.
  6. The Mets are going to get at least 1 top 25 prospect + another top 75 prospect for Thor. This deal wouldn't even warrant response.
  7. Hard pass on Thor. Paying the price to acquire him makes zero sense for the White Sox. Let the Twins trade Kirilloff + Graterol + for 2.33 years of a wildly overrated pitcher.
  8. Lol, @Chicago White Sox was suggesting one of Dunning/Walker/Rutherford + Pilkington. Not all four. That would be a massive overpay. I am thinking something like Walker OR Rutherford + Pilkington + Zavala + Heuer could get a Nimmo + Diaz deal done.
  9. I would trade Dunning/Walker/Rutherford + Pilkington for Nimmo and Diaz in a New York minute. Hell, I'd do that just for Nimmo. He fits what this team needs perfectly.
  10. I still don’t particularly understand why we would give up any legitimate assets for starting pitching. There are plenty of good to interesting starting pitchers on the free-agent market in a couple months. Why give up assets when all we will need to give up in a couple months is money? If the price is minimal, sure. Otherwise, just fill our starting pitching needs via FA.
  11. Yah, cause he’s a Cubs fan. He may be a casual follower of the Sox, But also clearly a Cubs fan
  12. It's always funny to me when people shit on an idea, but provide no real alternative options. Greensox is quite good at that. Who are your top 3 options to man RF next season? I'd much prefer a guy like Nimmo to Mazara, but he very well may be unavailable. I'd also prefer a guy like Ramiel Tapia who I think is a great fit for our OF, but again - no idea if he's attainable, and certainly would be more expensive than Mazara at this stage, I would think. But its not like there are a bunch of options that are good fits, and the FA RF are not great fits IMO whether due to poor defense, or their handedness - or in most cases both. I am not proposing the Sox offer anything that exciting for Mazara. But if you could get him for something like Fulmer + Hansen (as suggested earlier) or some other comparable package (I think it'd be great to give them a guy or two on the 40 man), I think its worth exploring. I too would prefer someone with longer control, but if the acquisition price isn't steep, he's a decent stopgap option that has a fair amount of upside. Mazara also keeps RF open in 2022 in hopes that someone out of the group of Adolfo, Walker, Gonzalez or Rutherford becomes a legit option there. Texas is still 1 game over .500, so maybe they'd even move him for some guys on the MLB roster. Doubtful, but you never now,
  13. Sox fans gonna be Sox fans.
  14. Your narrative is so tired. I too don't want to trade legitimate assets for 2.33 years of Mazara, but depending on the what you'd be giving up, its worth at least exploring. The Sox badly need a LH RF, and while he isn't a perfect fit, he's not an awful option.
  15. You would think things start picking up this weekend....
  16. Max Scherzer also struggled to go deep in games early in his career. Show some patience.
  17. It will probably take more than a "non prospect".
  18. Someone will nab Kemp Before he gets to the Sox on waivers. If they want to get him, they are going to have to give something up. Probably worth exploring though.
  19. Hard pass on trading any top prospects for pitching. Plenty of pitching on the FA market and all you have to do is pay them. So stupid to trade Cease or Kopech for pitching.
  20. Depending on the price, could be and interesting fit. The rangers can’t expect too much, I wouldn’t think.
  21. I think you missed the point. You can send him to AAA and skip starts there. I'd rather they do that than keep him on MLB roster and not use him, or just phantom DL him to skip starts. There are multiple ways to manage the situation, but the best way to manage it (IMO) is to to take it slow in the early going in AAA and do what you can to get the year back.
