  1. Zack Collins reaches the major leagues this year... as a first baseman
  2. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Mar 30, 2018 -> 06:09 PM) If there is any team at the top that should know Kelenic its us. He is playing on a travel team instead of his high school team this year, so hopefully he faces some better competition and we can see what he's got. I really like him, but I also feel like he might be a reach because he kind of profiles similar to Blake Rutherford: might not have the speed to stick in center, might not have the bat to make it in a corner. Brandon Nimmo too, at least in terms of situation
  3. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 30, 2018 -> 01:10 PM) I know these rankings can & will change, but who are the top four guys at the moment? Mize, Liberatore, McClanahan, & Hankins/Gorman? Obviously it seems like we?€™ll probably end up with a pitcher and I?€™m fine with that. Adding another elite pitching prospect will give us the depth to move some arms to add a cost-controlled bat when the time is right. Mize Liberatore McClanahan Gorman Hankins I think Singer is barely top ten, he's hasn't been too hot. I like Rolison too. Kelenic is a top ten guy as well.
  4. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 07:35 PM) On another day Moncada could have had two bombs as well. Both his outs to the warning track in CF would have been HRs in Chicago in June. I was being sarcastic regarding Moncada. But I’d like to see him be a tick more aggressive
  5. I have Anderson and Moncada going for a combined 40/40 Anderson is holding up his end of the bargain, Moncada not so much.
  6. 75-87 They improve their record but still nab that top ten pick, their last for a long time

  8. I know it’s not time for our prediction thread but... I have both Yoan and Tim going for 20/20 this year.
  9. Smart. There's no reason to rush anybody dealing with any sort of injury while the team is still in a rebuilding phase.
  10. As one of the people who was really beating the drum for Jason Heyward getting paid like a top player, even I can't deny that he has been an epic failure for the Cubs. I think that it is right up there with Pujols for being the worst contract in the sport.
  11. I just got back from seeing Black Panther... It’s pretty hard for me to watch movies like an average person, it’s takes me two or sometimes three viewings of a movie to really enjoy myself and not think about why or how they did this or that. The entire lead up to this movie has been pretty emotional because, I wish that I was 20 years younger and 5 years old again to experience this moment. As a black kid, who grew up obsessed with nerd culture all of my favorite characters were 97% white men. I was able to latch on to the ideas that they represented but they still felt unattainable because of my skin color. I can only imagine how empowered and inspired black kids are going to feel watching this movie and seeing an African King at the center of a superhero movie. There are no words that can do justice to the impact that this could have on the entire community. Instead of seeing themselves portrayed in the media as thugs, unintelligent and lesser they’re going to be seeing themselves as royalty, geniuses and as equals who are deserving of as much respect and opportunity their white counter parts get. I loved how the movie was at times structured as a conversation with the audience as it talked about a lot of issues facing black people today. Kids can hear these messages about lifting each other up from another black person and really take it with them. I really enjoyed the movie and I won’t go into specifics about what I liked and didn’t but everything happening around it makes me wish I’m 5 years old again, just so can this all in and take it with into adulthood. I can even picture my mom driving me to Tower Records to pick up the soundtrack, what a time to be alive.
  12. I am calling it... 2018, the year of Mickey Moniak
  13. QUOTE (Quin @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 06:18 PM) Thirded. Fourthed
  14. According to BA, De Sedas is not a strong hitter from the left side of the plate, while he has been switch-hitting for two years and is committed to being a switch-hitter, some scouts wish that he would only bat righthanded. And Kelenic is very much a grinder but super intense and scouts think he may not handle failure well as a professional.
  15. This is an awful trade for the Pirates. It's like you're playing as the Astros in OOTP and you force the Pirates to accept a s*** trade but in real life

  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 7, 2018 -> 04:34 PM) To be fair, Chris Berman did a piece today on the Bills being in the playoffs and all that has happened since their last appearance. The White Sox winning the WS made his list. No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills
  18. Both Andruw Jones and Bill Wagner deserve to be in the hall
  19. QUOTE (Moncada @ Jan 6, 2018 -> 06:05 PM) Yeah I'll send you a pm now. I never got the PM
  20. I think the Sox will be in the hunt for the first overall pick. This year is all about development. Look at how many young guys that will be on the ML roster: Anderson, Moncada, Lopez, Fulmer, Giolito, Delmonic, and I'm sure forgetting someone. Plus the pitching staff, while having all the potential in the world, is not as good as it was when the season opened last year. Same goes for the bullpen. Next year is going to be very rough for the Sox and it will be the hardest year of this process but getting another top five pick will be huge for this process because hopefully it's their last for a while.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 28, 2017 -> 02:09 PM) Probably because the information provided was third hand and his wife never filed a police report nor would she speak to MLB investigators Chapman had his charges dropped and still was punished by MLB
