  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 9, 2017 -> 04:19 PM) http://deadline.com/2017/11/star-wars-new-...edi-1202204843/ Rian Johnson (director of Episode VIII) is writing and directing a new Star Wars trilogy that is not connected to the main saga. I'm excited about this because I think he is talented and I'm happy they are expanding the universe outside of the main saga on film (Rogue One and the Han Solo movie are pretty damn connected to the main saga) and this also means that Disney/Lucasfilm are really happy with how Episode VIII turned out. This is a great way to get people from talking about Disney's treatment of the LA Times. Shocked that Rian Johnson would tie himself to something for 10-12 years. I know he's only slated to write and direct the first but I think that he would be involved in all three in some compacity. And this ensures that Disney wont rush into Epsiode 10.
  2. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 9, 2017 -> 04:12 PM) Louis CK's is especially creepy given his bit after bit about how men are awful and treat women like sex objects. The best art comes when you're creating from experience.

  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 6, 2017 -> 10:42 AM) Thor: Ragnarok was one of the better Marvel movies. Parts of it felt like a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I really hate GOTG Vol.2. Everything that I hated about it, Ragnarok excelled at.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 3, 2017 -> 11:45 AM) I think it would be unwise of the Cardinals to expect Molina to remain completely healthy until he is 38 years old. There are a lot of miles on those legs. They also gave him a no-trade clause Disregard, I meant that he has 10/5
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 3, 2017 -> 09:50 AM) Took my wife to the Morrissey show last night. I had a much better time than anticipated. The old guy can still croon. Everytime that I've bought tickets to see him with the exception of Riot Fest, he canceled. Really love the new single.
  7. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 1, 2017 -> 01:36 PM) Where did you see it already? I see there is a 12:20am showing later a the Marcus by me. Someone want to test Movie Pass and go see like a 9:30pm movie and then when the clock hits 12, grab a Thor ticket? haha I work for Deluxe during the day.
  8. I watched Girls Trip this morning for the third time and I think its the best original comedy since the Hangover or Bridesmaids. I really hope Tiffany Hadish gets some Oscar love, it looks like she's gearing up for a campaign.
  9. I really, really, really liked Thor Ragnarok. I was shocked at how standalone it was, outside of a couple very subtle lines it didn't really focus on the Infinity Stone. Cate Blanchett and Tessa Thompson were both great. Ruffalo was hilarious but the best character was Korg who had me laughing the entire time he was on screen. I don't know where I would rank this out of all the MCU films but its up there.
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 31, 2017 -> 05:21 PM) And I'd rather have Robert than Engel Dilly Dilly
  11. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Oct 31, 2017 -> 05:06 PM) I could see that for sure. Rdy for drool city? Moncada Delmonico Arenado Abreu Jimenez Collins Burger Anderson Engel Swap some out, whatever- still looks juicy AF I'll rather have Machado than Arenado
  12. I don't think it was ever a secret or that anyone doubted that Kevin Spacey was gay.
  13. I wonder if Kevin Spacey has any ties to those infamous parties thrown by Bryan Singer and Roland Emmerich, where they would invite (young) male talent over to Emmerich's mansion and have sex with them. Those parties are pretty much orgies for gay Hollywood.
  14. I mentioned the Giants before but I can see the Braves being interested in Stanton. they got a new stadium that they have to fill.
  15. He's going to look really good playing for the Giants.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 27, 2017 -> 10:59 AM) No, that’s what SyFy was invented for lol I'm going to see it with my family this weekend, I can't f***ing wait.
  17. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 27, 2017 -> 07:01 AM) I've seen 3 movies with moviepass since I received it close to 3 weeks ago. It is very easy to use. I saw Happy Death Day the day it came out on the 13th (friend wanted to see it and I wanted to test it), the next day after that I saw IT again (wanted to test the 24 hour rule), and then for the hell of it, I saw Jigsaw last night which was bad (not that I expected much) but it was a very small audience. I figure I will get a lot of use out of it with Thor, Justice League, Star Wars, Murder on the Orient Express coming out and even fringe movies I wouldn't pay to see it but likely will like Bad Moms 2 and Daddy's Home 2 (first one I thought was funny of each). It also helps that it is going to be colder out. Me and my buddy are going to start going one weeknight a week. So see Geostorm, it's looks to be what Movie Pass was invented for
  18. I am going to sign up for MoviePass tomorrow after I do some more research. I will admit that I was a bit skeptical of the idea but I know some people who really love it.
  19. Is anyone here going to see LCD Soundsystem when they come to Chicago? What show are you going to?
  20. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 07:44 AM) I saw it for the first time yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Nice addition to the MCU. I also think the Vulture is the best villain we've seen so far in this universe, IMO. For me, no one has come close to the Red Skull who is not only the best villain in the MCU but Hugo Weaving gave one of the better performances in the whole MCU
  21. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 06:45 AM) I Redboxed Spider-Man: Homecoming. I have a few issues with the film. I'm sure that I'll have more, but I wasn't that excited about it, and Spider-Man has been my favorite Marvel character since I was a child.
  22. Would anyone be willing to share the most recent article on Collins from the Athletic by James Fegan?
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 11:26 AM) Black Panther trailer looks...interesting? When I see Black Panther, I am going to see it in a Kaepernick jersey, in an African head-dress and I am going to see if I can have my sisters (or sistas) throw flower pedals down before my feet so I can walk on them on my way in and out of the theater. I'm going for that full black experience.
  24. I hate that the Astros aren't a NL team anymore, they should be in the NL West and the Rockies should be an AL team.
  25. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 01:44 PM) Yeah I disagree for different reasons. One, I think draft history for the white sox that's useful begins with the draft allotments (2013?). But, I also think that Rodon is the only real example of us taking BPA anyway. The strategy of going underslot in the first really is only effective when you have the bigger 1-5 bonuses and would have a shot at the first group after the comps or throwing money at the final high schoolers worth a damn in the 3rd round. The sox drafted Rodon, he was also clearly BPA. Did we draft BPA with Burger? He fit our new type but I wouldn't say he was obvious BPA. With Collins? I don't think so either. But it's also because I don't really think BPA is an easy concept in the mlb draft. I think of these guys in tiers. 2012, that when that CBA came into effect and introduced the strict bonus pools
