  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 21, 2017 -> 02:29 PM) It's all up to the front office. If they want to lose big one more year we'll lose big. Cause if they want to win there has to be a rebuilt bullpen and a significant closer acquired. Unless Nate is the man. Also if they want to win they would have to acquire a veteran starter to go with the young guys. And finally we need a catcher who can hit a bit. Without these things, losing batches of games is assured and no way they are going to sign a pitcher; no way are they going to sign a closer. I'd say a very similar year to this year, maybe identical record wise or 5-10 games worse. The bullpen is huge nowadays and ours reeks. I don't think that Hahn and co. are going to try to add pieces that will make the team more competitive, I think they'll be looking for guys that they can flip potential at the deadline. I agree that the pitching next year will be a problem next year but the offense should be more consistent next year.
  2. Right now, I think that they'll be a 70 win team next year. Giolito, Lopez and Fulmer are due for some growing pains
  3. I can't find the Marvel thread but it looks like Inhumans has been canceled. Did anyone see it in the theater?
  4. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Sep 20, 2017 -> 04:31 PM) As a baseball fan I feel for the Tiger's fans that have to watch such a bad team that will probably be worse next year. As a Sox fan I say f*** em. Ha Ha ! Good news is Shields has to face that Houston offense on what will be a warm humid evening. I really think Shields stands a very good chance of completely s***ting the bed. After tonight's game the Sox will have one more with Houston and three with KC. Meanwhile Detroit hosts the Twinkies for four games starting tomorrow. s***, f***ing Detroit just might snatch that #1 out from under the rest of the cellar dwellers. Pricks... f*** Detroit
  5. Who's coaching the Bears next year? Jim Bob Cooter?
  6. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Sep 15, 2017 -> 06:12 PM) REPO CODE hope Lucky is a good one Hopefully, he saw it with an audience before leaving
  7. Tyson Ross (could be a potential reliever).
  8. That game was so ugly that I started watching the Browns
  9. Lineup: Anderson SS Moncada 2B Abreu 1B A. Garcia RF Davidson DH Saladino 3B W. Garcia LF Engel CF Brantly C Covey (0-5, 7.90 ERA, 1.72 WHIP, 7.88 FIP) The Bears also play today, in case you forgot
  10. I love seeing Anderson and Moncada go 1-2 in the lineup that should happen like.... every game
  11. I expect the Sox to have a similar record next year but they'll be a more exciting team.
  12. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 12, 2017 -> 09:47 AM) So is he just going to copy the story format from one of the original films again? JJ can make whatever movie he wants, I doubt he comes back to do a remake of Return of the Jedi. I don't think The Force Awakens is a remake of A New Hope but it definitely does play with familiar Star Wars tropes and formula to tell its story. Now that he did the reboot already, I expect that he's going to do something original.
  13. I'm going to say it again but Anderson and Moncada should bat 1-2 every game.
  14. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Sep 11, 2017 -> 03:18 PM) I've read where the Orioles will offer Manny Machado a big contract this off season. Baltimore has indicated that if he turns down their offer they will probably trade him. That being said, I hope the White Sox offer Garcia a long term contract. If he turns it down, trade him. I hope Garcia remains a member of the White Sox. After the White Sox sign Garcia I'm hoping they sign Addison Reed and JD Martinez to long term contracts. This doesn't seem like the Orioles MO.
  15. Anderson and Moncada are huge disappointments. Ship them off while their value is still high.
  16. QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 6, 2017 -> 12:54 PM) I'm in a 14 man PPR that is very competitive. It's a short bench league too. My running backs are Jordan Howard, Jay Ajayi, Doug Martin and Jacquizz Rodgers. So the latter three just went on bye with the hurricane. The free agents are Robert Turbin, Branden Oliver, Jerrick McKinnon, Kyle Juszyck, JR Richard & DeAndre Washington. Wtf do I do? You should look into trading Doug Martin, people are saying that Rodgers has a good chance to hold on to that job, plus he has a prior relationship with the coach there from their days in Atlanta. In that group, I would take Oliver or McKinnon
  17. Would love to see TA finish the year strong.
  18. I'm curious to see how Fulmer takes this experience, being around Cooper and Hasler everyday, and brings it into ST.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 05:59 PM) I wondering if they want Rian Johnson to finish it That would make the most sense because he did write the original story for 9 and he's already in the building. The Last Jedi looks to be the only Star Wars movie since Lucasfilm was bought by Disney to have a solid, complete script and a normal production. TFA's script changed and rewritten everyday on set, R1 was constantly being revamped and was totally revamped and rewritten in reshoots, and Han Solo looks like a mess.
  20. Another Star Wars movie, another director is shown the door... http://www.starwars.com/news/a-statement-r...wars-episode-ix
  21. I am in a few leauges but my main leauge had it's draft last friday. Its a 12 team, 2 QB leauge thats .5 PPR. Every draft is an auction with a $200 budget and we always do it live... except this year because a couple of guys just had babies and they weren't able to leave the house so we had our auction through ESPN, for the first time in seven years. Some of us met up, ordered some food and drafted in the same room. Never have an online auction in the same room as the other guys from your leauge because every auction turned into an espensive game of chicken. Someone spent $75 on AP a few years ago and that was the highest price for a player that we've ever had. This year we had six players go for $70+ (AB, Brady, D. Johnson, Rodgers, Bell, and Jones). My strategy is throw out all the guys that I don't want so that other people can waste their budget on them but this year once the auction started I threw my strategy out the window and lost my grasp on the concept of money. I spent $190 players on 4 players (Hunt, Howard, AB and Pryor) and filled my reamining roster spots with $1 players. I f***ed up.
  22. Wade Boggs and a plate of fried chicken.
  23. Big Notre Dame family. Having a party for the opener. I think they win 7 games games this year and Kelly is fired after the season.
  24. I liked what I read about Forbes when he headed to the draft. Solid pickup.
