  1. Because he can't actually say "These guys fucking suck, what can I do? This is the garbage roster my dumbshit GM constructed, and I'm managing with both arms tied behind my back, with a boulder chained to my ankle. Anything I do is merely shuffling deck chairs on a ship sitting at the bottom of the ocean."
  2. Such a move might be too savvy for Getz, so you might have a point.
  3. They probably could have non-tendered him and brought him back cheeper if that were the case. It's not like teams are clammoring for bad 1B who can't hit.
  4. Completely agree. Piling up loses is expected during a rebuild, but we aren't exactly seeing growth or progress or an improved process overall. Getz can't even assemble a regular bad MLB roster during the early phase of a rebuild, so why should we hope that he can fix the minor league system, or overhaul scouting, talent evaluation, and developement?
  5. This is where I have been the past few seasons. MLB.tv is a saving grace. There is just so much better baseball to watch elsewhere than to let JR's unceasing disgrace rob me of baseball joy.
  6. Yeah, not exactly new news. The 2025 start is just another in a long series of disgraces. All part of the all encompassing and neverending disgrace that is Jerry Reinsdorf. Nothing new under the sun here.
  7. Certainly one of Getz' many trade flops can field better than Palacios?? What the hell.
  8. He looks completely clueless out there.
  9. If he rejects, it's usually reported as cleared wiavers and elected free agency. Unfortunately for us, no one else wants his sorry ass so he chose to stay in the org.
  10. Can't waste (only) a year. Must waste 10.
  11. I was perusing the Sox top 30 this morning, and it was really difficult to see anyone with a 2025/2026 eta, outside of Teel, who had a chance to be a difference maker. We are going to have a team with maybe 3 good position players, all burning service time, with nothing but retreads filling out the roster. With little to look forward to coming from the minors and zero hope of adding a star via FA. I think Getz is missing the build part of "rebuild"...
  12. Vaughn's history of being bad is longer than 20 games this April though.
  13. Eh, there are plenty of us who recognize that both suck, and we saw plenty of Sheets to know a hot start elsewhere is likely unsustainable. Non-tendering Vaughn last winter was the right move, and he's yet to prove otherwise. Another terrible start just validates those who are ready to move on from him right now.
  14. Hahahahah. Seriously, Cruise Control best start brushing up on Korean culture, cuz he's not long for the Majors.
  15. Shocking, right? Assembling the worst team in modern history can't be good for one's reputation around the league.
  16. If Andrew Vaughn's dismal performance continues, he'll soon be at serious risk of being DFA'd, and that $6M in arb salary for this single year might be the biggest payday he ever sees. But, yeah, cruise control. A more apt analogy would be a car set ablaze, careening towards a cliff, with no driver at the wheel...
  17. Dude has no track record of success to fall back on, but sure, he is on cruise control with his entire baseball future hanging in the balance. That is some galaxy brain s%*#.
  18. Non-tendering him last winter was a no brainer. Another outstanding use of limited resources.
  19. Baldwin is looking better than any of the corpses Getz brought in, and that's saying something.
  20. And Getz was supposed to spare us all a wasted year...
