  1. So in other words, there are no indicators they are building around a coherent strategy. Awesome.
  2. I don't think anyone is a fan of corporate named parks, but it is inescapbale at this point. "Wintrust Field at Comiskey Park" or something of the sort is probably the best we can hope for.
  3. Going from Renteria, for whom it seemed like players would run through a wall, to drunken baseball corpse who napped in the dugout probably throws a monkey wrench in the whole accountability and professionalism part.
  4. And so many Getzian AAAA wastes of roster space.
  5. Major League pitching is smart enough to exploit Baldwin’s aggressiveness, so in order to fix the issue, he gets to face inferior pitching that doesn’t challenge him and isn’t capable of exploiting his weaknesses. Make it make sense…
  6. Those renderings look fantastic. It could have and should have been us. Thanks Jerry. Just f*** off already and let us have nice things...
  7. The article even mentions access to two adjacent parking garages!
  8. Tnetennba replied to WBWSF's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Seriously. The Sox aren’t a Devers level hitter away from contending.
  9. The grass *isn't* always greener...
  10. Correct. His 2025 option has been used, so if he were to flop in his first big league stint, going back to Charlotte doesn’t burn another option.
  11. Are they marginally better? Sure. Significantly better? Their record says otherwise. Will Tauchman or Slater bring back anything notable in trade? Unlikely. Are these sentiments repeated ad nauseam or have been irrefutably disproven to necessitate an apology thread? Not even remotely. Not being historically bad two years in a row is hardly reason for a victory lap.
  12. There are far better hotdogs to be had around the city. It’s a shame it’s the only option left on 35th street.
  13. Does Lee have options left? Trading him away feels premature, even though it’s tough to roster 3 catchers. I just don’t see them getting anything more useful in trade.
  14. And that’s the rub. Two bars on 33rd and a shitty hotdog stand on 35th a few blocks west. Not a whole hell of a lot to do before or after games w/in walking distance. Drop Sox Park at Roosevelt & Clark and you have a few dozen a short walk away, including easier access to Chinatown. If the White Sox want to be a viable entertainment option for tourists and casual fans alike, 35th & Shields or 29th & King won’t cut it.
  15. We are way past that point. Three weeks into April is typically enough to keep a player from acruing a full year of service time.
  16. Basically, you have the King bus, and thats it. The 31 and the 4 are blocks away, and not exactly easily accessible on foot. I just don't see how a ballpark on the Reese site as any sort of improvement on the supposed issues at 35th & Shields. It is less accessible via transit, car, or on foot. Maybe 8-10 football games is viable, but not 81 dates.
  17. Fans in other cities adjusted to different transportation circumstance with new ballparks, Chicagoans can do it too. The 78 won't be surrounded by a sea of parking lots, but there are plenty of lots and garages near by that can be contracted as satellite lots with shuttle service. I fully believe a new stadium would provide viable parking options for drivers.
  18. From the 55 interchange north its just such a clusterfuck slog, not to mention crawling back east on Roosevelt. Exit Chinatown and you roll right up Clark St. So much easier.
  19. Yup. 100% CYA press release vagueries.
  20. Presented by Comic Sans at the top of his blog.
  21. Exactly. 1/3 of Chicago's market is bigger than Nashville. Make the effort to win back and create new Sox fans and you're far better off than waiting for locals to support a transplanted team.
  22. Who the f*** is Carl and why the f*** should we care about his raving lunatic blog posts? This reads like it was gleaned from a certain few Soxtalk posters.
  23. The Nashville of Chicago!
