  1. We are way past that point. Three weeks into April is typically enough to keep a player from acruing a full year of service time.
  2. Basically, you have the King bus, and thats it. The 31 and the 4 are blocks away, and not exactly easily accessible on foot. I just don't see how a ballpark on the Reese site as any sort of improvement on the supposed issues at 35th & Shields. It is less accessible via transit, car, or on foot. Maybe 8-10 football games is viable, but not 81 dates.
  3. Fans in other cities adjusted to different transportation circumstance with new ballparks, Chicagoans can do it too. The 78 won't be surrounded by a sea of parking lots, but there are plenty of lots and garages near by that can be contracted as satellite lots with shuttle service. I fully believe a new stadium would provide viable parking options for drivers.
  4. From the 55 interchange north its just such a clusterfuck slog, not to mention crawling back east on Roosevelt. Exit Chinatown and you roll right up Clark St. So much easier.
  5. Yup. 100% CYA press release vagueries.
  6. Presented by Comic Sans at the top of his blog.
  7. Exactly. 1/3 of Chicago's market is bigger than Nashville. Make the effort to win back and create new Sox fans and you're far better off than waiting for locals to support a transplanted team.
  8. Who the f*** is Carl and why the f*** should we care about his raving lunatic blog posts? This reads like it was gleaned from a certain few Soxtalk posters.
  9. South Loop penthouse overlooking the 78😉
  10. Because Jerry hates us and will drag this out as long as possible?
  11. Basically all of Streeterville and Lakeshore East are skyscrapers built on lakebed infill. I’m no structural engineer, but building a stadium on former riverbed seems like child’s play in comparison.
  12. This is where reality and perception don't align in the White Sox favor. I would agree with everything you said about the neighborhoods surrounding Sox Park, but a negative perception, often times influenced by misinformation or mistruths, bias and stigma, still persists. The org also doesn't do itself any favors by ignoring the neighborhood as you said. It is very clear that the ballpark isn't part of the fabric of the community the way Wrigely is, and sadly I believe it is too late to ever remedy or rectify that. And while the 78 itself is pretty desolate, the South Loop is percieved as much more vibrant, and the proximity to downtown will have tourist appeal that Armour Square simply can't compete with. But at the end of the day, for the White Sox to ever flourish, JR has to relinquish control. Until that happens, we are all just biding our time hoping for a day that often seems like it will never come.
  13. 'May not be credible' is far too kind. Mets have no need for Sosa, and I'm not sure Robert is even an upgrade over Tyrone Taylor in CF right now. And the idea that they wouldn't trade for Robert if they couldn't get Sosa as well is laughable.
  14. In the context of TLR not quite being the baseball genius JR think he is, which was referenced in the post I quoted, it's not a wild thing to say. Dusty Baker certainly benefited from his players juicing, but his one NL pennant (pre Astros) doesn't exactly compare to the three rings Tony has.
  15. I have a feeling we’ll see Vaughn back up at some point whether he hits in AAA or not.
  16. Has any manager in the past 40 years benefitted from steroids more than TLR?
  17. The White Sox Way™️
  18. It’s almost like the White Sox are really bad at developing and fail their players on the regular. Sheets still doesn’t draw walks and leads the Padres in strikeouts, so it’s not some magical transformation.
  19. On what planet has Andrew Vaughn proven to be a major leaguer?
  20. The easiest non-tender in the history of White Sox baseball will haunt us all season.
  21. Firing his clown ass would be so much less effort. Yet here we are.
