  1. The consensus about this trade generally seems to be positive yet you feel the need to throw barbs over longstanding past grudges. Like, we get it dude, you just want attention, but this s%*# just isn't necessary.
  2. This is true. For some players, how the message is presented matters just as much as the message itself.
  3. At least I don't have to figure out who Austin Slater is now.
  4. We heard rumors that he was lazy and didn't work on his game, and was resistant to analytics and change. Maybe getting sent down then traded was the wake up call he needed? Not saying he's gonna be Aaron Judge-eque for the rest of his playing days, but even great coaching/instruction will fail if the student isn't open to learning.
  5. He was just promoted to Birmingham, there’s no way he’s ready for OD 2026. Even if he completely destroys AA the rest of the year I’d give him a few months in Charlotte to open next season.
  6. IDK, they are made of hog anuses? Or cow anus in the case of Vienna Beef? Damn, I could really go for some Jim's Original right now...
  7. Getz isn't winning any trades with what he has to trade. He already fucked up the trades of his best assests sans one.
  8. Smart orgs tend to have kids work on positional flexibility in the minors, not throw a guy into a new position they've never played before in the majors. Yes, Montgomery played like 5 games at 3B in Charlotte, but that's not a large enough sample to consider him experienced.
  9. It's almost as if those in charge don't have fucking clue what they are doing.
  10. In a vacuum, Vientos isn't a bad return. It isn't an overly inspring return, but Robert has fallen so far that we have to temper our exceptions on what we get back. The issue is Vientos' fit on the Sox, and Getz targeting a guy already in the bigs who may not be around by the time they are legitimately on the upswing. If Vargas weren't around, Vientos would make more sense, but both is too redundant IMO.
  11. Niether of them are SS. Acuna is a 2B whose bat lends itself more to a Utility role. Mauricio is pretty solid at 3B so far, but he's the youngest and best of the names listed, and there's no way in hell the Mets are trading him straight up for Robert. The reason why Vientos and Baty keep coming up is because NYM has a logjam with those guys and need to part with someone to give the others ample playing time.
  12. I agree that the time to trade Robert was in 2023 vs now, but there’s a huge difference between what teams were willing to offer in 2016/17 vs now or even a few years ago. If the hauls Hahn got back are the measuring stick, we will be disappointed in the return no matter what.
  13. Vientos > Vargas at 3B. Not that either should be viewed as the longterm solution.
  14. Miguel Vargas as the headliner was always dumb for where the roster is.
  15. Sox are already burning service time on a number of young players, but aren't remotely close to winning. Adding another in Baty just doesn't make sense IMO.
  16. Houser is certainly worth less than Fedde, but maybe Gety won't be completely bamboozled this time around...
  17. Just don’t embarrass yourselves please White Sox. I know that’s asking a lot.
  18. ‘Diminishing Skills’, but you want to keep him for four more years. Yet you fail to see why people can’t take these posts seriously.
  19. Is he really an old friend when he played for nearly every team?😆
  20. And this necessitated bringing his name into a thread that had nothing to do with him?
  21. What the f*** does this have to do with anything?
  22. This part.
  23. Do it Getzy, tease 4 Cease! (for legal purposes, this is in fact a joke.)
  24. Chuck knows not to bite the hand that feeds him.
