No one should view that 60 win mark as progress. Getz’ 2nd full year was a game worse than the team he took over. 2025 on its own gets many GM’s fired. 102 losses is really bad.

220+ losses before the end of his second full season. Bravo Chris, bravo.

Why waste one year when you can waste three! -
Manoah was a mess before TJ, but totally worth a shot.

100 is all but guaranteed. Do they even win two more to crack 60 wins? -

Neither do most teams who employ highly talented people who get national broadcasting opportunities. -
Is “The 78” Dead? Or even more alive? Fire announce plans for SSS

The Red and Green line stations before and after games would like a word with you. You obviously dont take transit to games so you haven't a clue, but plenty do. -

Not without realigning Cortland, and even then it would be an awkard fit for the lot and the location. I imagine the Cubs would not be happy and would lobby alderman to nix the plan. A Fire stadium maybe, but certainly not for the Sox. -

Coun't agree more. He's fine, but nothing special. Far from any sort of gold standard for baseball PBP thats for sure. -

The upper deck rarely fills up, adding a new section doesn’t solve anything. Besides, the open air OF concourse is one of the best features IMO. -
Seriously, watch the White Sox get slapped with penalties when they finally start to play with the big boys in the amateur international market.

$6M for a kid who can’t sign officially until 2030? I find that hard to believe. Did Jerry croak and we just haven’t heard yet?

The same NIMBY residents across Clark St who were opposed the last time a subway stop was proposed at 15th &Clark? https://www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news/residents-riled-about-proposed-cta-south-loop-station/# -
The Rockies looked well on their way for a good chunk of the season, and even they sit at 40 wins with 3 weeks to play. Getzy’s record is going to stand for a while.

Less missing the point, more refusing to see the point. I have no doubt that any ballpark at the 78 will have parking options, but not having their parking wants directly catered to has a select few here completely losing their s%*#, ad infinitum. -

I see plenty of Cubs jerseys on the Orange Line heading into downtown, and *gasp* they transfer to the scary subway at Roosevelt. -

Or do what the Cubs do and shuttle fans in from remote parking lots. -
Shafted would be him performing well, not getting called up when the need arose, and the Sox not letting him seek opportunity elsewhere. But none of that happened. He sucked, and even admits it. Total non-story.

My first apartment in the city was on the 3rd floor of a South Loop loft with the Green/Orange line racks right outside my window. I quickly learned to keep my blinds closed, especially during rush hour 😂. -
Even if the last round of early extensions doesn’t give them pause, a risk averse org like the Sox certainly will have trepidation handing long term money to a guy who has already had back issues in the minors.

Because, Getz.

There is still a non-zero percent chance they don't pick up the option and waste 2M while he walks for nothing. I think most rational fans here would recognize the Sox taking what they could get in July for an oft injured player having a dismal year several years removed from All Star level play. This isn't selling Cease for pennies on the dollar.
