There is still a non-zero percent chance they don't pick up the option and waste 2M while he walks for nothing. I think most rational fans here would recognize the Sox taking what they could get in July for an oft injured player having a dismal year several years removed from All Star level play. This isn't selling Cease for pennies on the dollar.
-
Had he stayed healthy and productive the rest of the year, sending cash along with him might have actually improved the return. But I just can’t see a team giving up legit value at this point even with cash. The injury risk is just too high.

Sox trade Andrew Vaughn to acquire Aaron Civale

Or 2B -
Other GMs knew Robert’s inability to stay on the field well enough to call Getz’ bluff at the deadline, and low & behold he’s out with another injury that will keep him out significant time. I don’t see how the returns will be better come winter with a $20M price tag attached.

It does say “me”, which could mean anything. Certainly won’t be the White Sox, who are more likely to lose 98 in 2026 than win 98.

For all of your delusional posts, this one takes the cake.

Some people just hate fun.

Rox have a -332 run differential and are somehow only 5 wins from bettering the 2024 Sox. That’s crazy. Losing 31 of 34 the rest of the way seems like a tall task, even for them.

But loves money way way more. While also hating us just as much.

Can’t wait to discover just how much ESPN fucks up MLB.tv…

And next few before they relent and IL him and we don’t see him again until late September. -
The Future of the White Sox TV Broadcast Team

Oh boy, I do remember that incident but don’t recall who did the scribbling in the dirt. Not that it’s a great look for either of them one way or another. -
Sox, Cubs, Brewers, Twins paired together in future?
Tnetennba replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
True, but circumstance of a cheap owner is a bit different than putting a team in a small town knowing full well it’s one of the last places in the continental US players would want to sign, or re-sign. -

This makes a ton of sense, which means it won’t happen and we’ll get something far more asinine. -

Wouldn’t surprise me in the least. Good luck trying to ever sign a big FA or retaining their own players. Or drawing crowds 81 dates a year. -

Very uninteresting with absolutely nothing in common. -

Technically fall starts the last week of the regular season, but if Schrif is turning off to do football games, then that’s more like 5 to 6 weeks. -
Is “The 78” Dead? Or even more alive? Fire announce plans for SSS
Tnetennba replied to soxfan18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Once upon a time there was an L stop at 18th on the Southside Elevated (Green Line), but with the Orange Line split right there, an 18th Green Line isn't feasible. But with the South Loop boom of the past 20 years, a stop at 18th makes sense to fill the gap between Roosevelt and Cermak. The new Cermak stop was an obvious necessity, but if anything does get built at the 78, the need for an infill station only increases IMO. -

Montreal & Oakland are more deserving, but Manfred doesn't give a s%*# growing the game. -
Is “The 78” Dead? Or even more alive? Fire announce plans for SSS
Tnetennba replied to soxfan18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
A 15th & Clark Red Line stop would make sense for the 78, but how well that location would serve or, not serve, the surrounding community makes me think it is unlikely. I don't know if it would feasible to build a station the Orange line west of Clark, but I think any new CTA station would need to serve the greater community outside the 78 in order to be aproved and built. -

1000% this part. -
So picketing outside of a baseball stadium is the only way to express one’s displeasure with the organization. What a crock of s%*#.

Maybe try not to have the worst national broadcast going and perhaps someone might care.

Sox and six other teams w/o Top 100 player
Tnetennba replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The White Sox, amidst the early stages of a rebuild, don’t have a top 100 player? You don’t say. This should not be a surprise to anyone, nor is it particularly newsworthy. Certainly not deserving of its own thread, except for those amongst us addicted to starting pointless threads… -
Would you be on board with a rebrand when Ishbia takes over?
Tnetennba replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
New lipstick, same pig. New ownership, operating like a big market team, and winning will do far more to wash JR’s stain away than any rebrand would.
