  1. AAAA DH bats, sure. Good? Eh. Guys like them are a dime a dozen, which is why they have no trade value. Decent warm bodies to fill in for injury, but not guys a supposed contender should be relying on.
  2. I think the Jays would hang up the phone. Biggio isn’t great but he’s more useful than a bad backup 1B.
  3. Burger and Sheets playing significant roles on the 2023 Sox is a sad statement about the lack of depth in the upper minors. But this org never cares about that.
  4. Burger, Cespedes, & Sheets have next to no trade value. Those three get you nothing in trade.
  5. I think we as Sox fans are just a little fed up with his empty platitudes, and it’s a fair place to be. Of course he isn’t going to say that the guys in line to fill 2B suck, or that the plan sucks, or that he’s a feckless incompetent boob that can’t get anything done with what little he has to work with. Still, it all just rings hollow at this point.
  6. It’s just hard to take his empty statements seriously any more. They are content doing nothing at 2B. Hooray! Exciting stuff there Rick.
  7. Rick Hahn content with mediocrity, news at 11.
  8. Yeah, hopefully its mere lip service and nothing more.
  9. They really don't care about RF defense and or keeping Eloy healthy if they really are going to give him time in RF.
  10. I don't have anything against the signing either. Its just laughable that they are presenting it as something to get excited about.
  11. The argument is moot anyway since AJ gave up $8M at the tail end of his career to bounce the f*** out of here.
  12. Engel was actually good defensively for most of those years and could cover all 3 OF spots, injury history aside. We really can’t say that about AJ.
  13. Empty mea culpas? The league has no interest in fixing the crooked refereeing, so this is their way of feigning accountability.
  14. That’s about the only way they spend their allotment if they are at this point with plenty of money left.
  15. Hahaha holy s%*#, wow. They really do think we are dumb enough to get excited by an Andrew Benintendi signing…
  16. They have all of what, one guy that can adequately cover RF on the 40 man in Colas? Yet posters think AJ would be an adequate 4th OF? Yikes.
  17. Same, but I don't think the Jays are interested in giving him away for nothing. Or the equivalent of nothing the Sox can offer.
  18. Kirk will likely spend more than half his time DHing, but there will be plenty of DH ABs to go around when he's catching.
  19. If we hadn't signed Benintendi, perhaps, but I don't think anyone would be clamoring for AJ to be our 4th OF. He is basically LF only these days, and the Sox need more versatility.
  20. I’d be really shocked if he did. I don’t know who is handing him a starting spot let alone $8M. He might be able to cover CF if you squint, but he doesn’t offer much versatility as a backup either.
