I think the Jays would hang up the phone. Biggio isn’t great but he’s more useful than a bad backup 1B.

Burger and Sheets playing significant roles on the 2023 Sox is a sad statement about the lack of depth in the upper minors. But this org never cares about that.

Burger, Cespedes, & Sheets have next to no trade value. Those three get you nothing in trade.

I think we as Sox fans are just a little fed up with his empty platitudes, and it’s a fair place to be. Of course he isn’t going to say that the guys in line to fill 2B suck, or that the plan sucks, or that he’s a feckless incompetent boob that can’t get anything done with what little he has to work with. Still, it all just rings hollow at this point.

It’s just hard to take his empty statements seriously any more. They are content doing nothing at 2B. Hooray! Exciting stuff there Rick.

Engel was actually good defensively for most of those years and could cover all 3 OF spots, injury history aside. We really can’t say that about AJ.

Empty mea culpas? The league has no interest in fixing the crooked refereeing, so this is their way of feigning accountability.

That’s about the only way they spend their allotment if they are at this point with plenty of money left.
