  1. Lynn is who he is at this point, I don’t expect drastic change. Staying healthy would be a neat trick, but at 35 I’m not expecting it.
  2. A healthy org could work to fix what is wrong with the regulars *and* fill both 2B and RF with competent major leaguers. It doesn't have to be either or. It shouldn't be a tall task to fill the two gigantic holes in the lineup while also addressing the major ills of last season.
  3. As I said, it wasn’t working last season and something needed to be fixed. Will this change work? Who knows. But I going to wait to see the results. I like that he’s putting in the work to fix whatever was broken. There is a lot on the line for Gio this season on top of team expectations, I highly doubt he’s approached this lightly.
  4. It wasn’t working last season, so something needed to be fixed.
  5. Buehrle Black Jack Contreras Alex Fernandez Wilson Alvarez If Sale we’re on the list it would definitely change the calculus, but alas.
  6. It's just hard to get exciting about the fact that we are banking on said bounce back from seemingly most of the roster. Not exactly the most inspiring place to be a month before pre-season starts.
  7. I believe both were at the end of their deals, which was why the OP posed the original question. We haven't heard either way, which with 4-5 weeks until pitchers and catchers report does feel odd that we still don't know anything.
  8. You're not wrong. When Stacey actually talks about basketball he's sounds like he knows the game, even if strategically antiquated. He's just a clown 95% of the time during the broadcast. Stone still grates on me, even if he is far more tolerable.
  9. Best we can expect are Minors/NRI signings now yeah? And a whole lot of magical thinking expecting everyone to stay healthy and bounce back. This off-season serves proof that they were never serious about contending.
  10. Cheapasses couldn’t even scrounge to find $7M for a legit 4th OF.
  11. Same can be said for Adam Amin, which begs the question who at NBCSC is responsible for all of the gimmicky campy crap on both Bulls & Sox broadcasts. Stone is less of of buffoon than Stacy King, but both make the respective broadcasts interoperable at times.
  12. The Soxtalk site became self-aware, realized it no longer wanted to be affiliated with the Chicago White Sox, and keeps trying to pull its own plug. And honesty, who could blame it?
  13. And why the f*** do we care about what the Cubs did this winter?
  14. And your point is? The owners putting forth one proposal that actually benefits the game, whatever their motivations or negotiating tactics, doesn’t negate all of their shitty selfish behavior. This isn’t some big gotcha. I’m as anti-owner as anyone, but this schtick is tired.
  15. I was more thinking the Sox would lowball him because of his union involvement, but you make a valid point too.
