  1. I get that it is probably difficult to find quality commentators to fill on a part time basis. But FFS they can't do better than Gordon fucking Beckham? I just don't get the fondness for him. He sucked here as a player, really offers nothing notable from a baseball perspective, and he is down right awful on air. There have to be talented people looking to break into the industry that would jump at a shot to be on air. I get that is probably difficult for one's schedule, but come on!
  2. No one in human history has tried harder by actually doing the bare minimum than these dopes.
  3. Which is why I struggle to find optimism for a team that looks worse on paper than the 81 win debacle of last season. Way too many things have to go right while hoping real hard they stay relatively healthy. It’s a tough sell.
  4. If this is fiscal responsibility then gawd help us all…
  5. They were a .500 team last year, and yes no more TLR should be a boost, but does Beni replace Abreu and then some? No Cueto, no Hendriks, whatever scrap heap replaces Clevinger, that's a lot to overcome. Even before we start talking about how much we can actually bank on any of these guys to remain healthy and produce like we once believed they could.
  6. I’m not predicting 90 losses, but I think they will be closer to 90 losses than 90 wins. Too many question marks and too many holes, with next to no depth, near ready prospects, or available funds to add. Banking on perfect health and spectacular bounce back from everyone feels like a recipe for failure.
  7. I'm not into sports betting and I know jack s%*# about betting odds, but I thought this was noteworthy.
  8. This is the same front office that expected the Benintendi signing to energize ticket sales, so I would not be surprised if this were the case.
  9. That, or I’ll be switching to a different game by 6:11.
  10. Uh, the time to spend the money was in November and December when there were real impact players on the market. They went quasi-cheap bounce back option again and got totally burned signing a garbage human instead of the normal garbage player. They s%*# themselves and now just have to sit in it. It’s honestly what they deserve, and throwing more money at bad won’t solve anything.
  11. The abuser will almost always exact a toll for reporting it.
  12. In all fairness, this is the White Sox we are talking about. I very much hope you are right, but I have no faith in them and they get zero benefit of the doubt. Until they do the right thing, it is hard not to expect them to do what is wrong.
  13. Remind me what happened to Addison Russel’s career? Wasn’t he seriously toxic afterwards? I’d like to think the same happens here but I don’t have high hopes.
  14. Traffic sucks, no argument from me. What is there to debate though? JR threatened the move to Addison at a time when the majority of baseball was moving back to downtown stadiums. That trend hasn’t changed. Suburban stadiums are an antiquated notion now and the Bears org being morons is the outlier. Do you honestly think that a suburban stadium wouldn’t also suffer from traffic jams? That parking also wouldn’t still be outrageously overpriced? That you wouldn’t be sitting in traffic 60-90min even still? I’m not gonna waste any more brain power because we aren’t going to agree. But if you want to debate, at least have some factual information next time, and not more of you being afraid of the big bad city.
