If Stroman is ok playing for La Russa, he's my #1. I would be happy with Quintana as a backend starter. A few other interesting names out there now as backend options.

I don't think Bauer is happening. I do think they will do their best to acquire starting pitching and find a stopgap platoon half with Engel in RF. The can live with a hole in RF. They cannot live with the holes/question marks in the rotation.

Springer is a luxury at this point. Those dollars go farther in the starting staff.

I'm right there with you. They can hide a poor RF far better than 3 holes in the staring lineup. With a healthy normal Moncada and even a rookie Vaughn, RF production is less of a priority than the starting staff. They won't complete for the division with only 2 starters.

I haven't followed the news much over the weekend, but is anyone excoriating or eviscerating the Tigers for hiring AJ Hinch? No? Anything close to the derision the Sox received for hiring La Russa? No? No Reaction? Huh.
