La Russa arrested for DUI in Feb; charged day before hire
Tnetennba replied to Baron's topic in Pale Hose Talk
No coincidence in my mind that news of a change of plea hearing and the formal coaching staff announcement happen on the same day. We are stuck with TLR and it fucking sucks... -

MEH No surprises, just some sad reality setting in. -

I'm guessing that if he were facing any real consequences he wouldn't be changing his plea. This feels to me like a move to take the slap on the wrist and close the matter. -

If no new RF by Nontender deadline, should Sox tender Mazara?
Tnetennba replied to YourWhatHurts's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Few players go to arbitration because most are settled beforehand at a number close to their arbitration figure. “Buying out arb years” is simply offering a guaranteed contract for those arb years of rookie deals for near those same figures. Guaranteed years at guaranteed dollars. No more need to tender yearly contracts and no more need for arbitration. -

The singular tweet from a new pizza account created this month. Cishek has no creativity. -

Piggybacking off a real reporter to lend himself credibility. How convenient. ? -
"If the White Sox identify DH as a spot where they crave a more reliable solution — remember, they have other areas of need, like starting pitching and right field, that could soak up offseason resources"

It's time to move on from the La Russa hire, folks
Tnetennba replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Nope. I am still disgusted by the hire and will forever be critical. I will continue to push back against those that tell others to just get over it. The hire has real world consequences and those don't go away even if you don't care or want to hear about the ramifications. And speaking of the northside, why are you still here? -
Patience is for rebuilding, the window is now. The roster holes are well known as are the MLB ready prospects available to step in. There is no reason the enter the season without addressing team needs.

I have no problem parting with Cease in the right deal. But for one singular year of Lynn that's a tough sell.

Tendering him while still under team control within the arbitration process is subject to rules that free agents aren't? If teams could offer under performing players massively lower figures w/o granting them free agency first or going to arbitration, wouldn't that be common place? If the Sox tender Mazara a contract w/o granting FA first they are obligated to offer no less than 80% of his previous salary. A lower number would be an attempt to circumvent the arbitration process. -

Not tendering him a contract makes him a free agent. He could sign for less to return, but it's probably more likely he finds work elsewhere. -

Portillos seems to have gotten some stuff right when they were more inconspicuous. Might have had accurate info at some point, but I don't know about now. Their interactions with Cishek and Al's, whom I believe are full of shit and are in cahoots if not the same person, make me doubt the current validity of Portillos. I could be wrong but that is how I see it. Not every burner tweet needs critical analysis nor is every tweet worth sharing. There is a lot of garbage on Twitter and lots of conjecture and false information being presented as and purporting to be news. It's fun to speculate and all but continually presenting tweets from accounts of questionable repute as if it's real information is problematic. Anyone can tweet but it doesn't mean the supposed information is worth the code its written on.

I personally don't care about the content of those burners. It's mostly hot air. I'm not bothered by them being posted here but I understand why it's frustrating for others. Speculation for the sake of discussion is fine, but there really isn't anything worth discussing in burner tweets presented as news. That's the realm these burners are entering. Personally I think you are taking flack because you regularly post those specific accounts, more than anyone else. Just my perspective as a regular reader of this forum. I post this as food for thought more than anything else.

I would think we start hearing things Monday or Tuesday once the holiday weekend is over. Hopefully. -
A little bit of discernment in which tweets to post might spare some of the reactions you get. Just my opinion. Nothing wrong with posting news or rumor, but continually posting a burner account rapidly proving to be phony and then complaing about its content here and not on Twitter feels like the wrong forum to voice said opinion. Again, just my opinion. Not everyone here cares about Twitter burners even if some of the info is worth discussing here.

Spoken like a true abuser. Well done. I guess victims of police brutality and those who have lost loved ones to drunk driving should just get over it too. Please log off Soxtalk and leave the rest of us in peace. /rant -
Aside from coming from a reputable news outlet, sure.
