  1. I could see a combined 3/$124 for Darivish and Heyward having more appeal to JR’s operating constraints than 5/$125 for Springer or whatever 9 figure outlay inks Bauer.
  2. Heyward has 3/$65 left. No real place for Joc with Engel & Leury already on the roster.
  3. Part of me would love to see an Eaton return redemption story but I don't have high hopes that being with a winning organization has taught him to be less of an asshat.
  4. I don't want to derail this thread any further, but Moncada's speed, power, and elite eye can do everything you want Grandal to do batting 2nd without clogging the order or making lazy outs ahead of the heart of the order. He also scores from 1st on anything in the gaps or into the corners. He's my 2 hitter every day he's healthy and on the field. Grandal can stand like a statue working walks lower in the order after the Sox put a few across the plate ahead of him.
  5. Agree. I don't want to see Grandal hit higher than 5th going forward. Robert can climb into the middle of the order the more he acclimates and excels.
  6. The sooner Eloy and or Robert push Grandal down in the order the better.
  7. Brantley would be a fine addition if he comes cheap and is cool with a part time DH/LF role once Vaughn arrives. The caveats give me doubt.
  8. 5/$120ish is what I remember, but I don't think there was ever official confirmation or anything.
  9. Is it really necessary to insult posters' intelligence because they don't like this hire?
  10. This is good perspective. I hope Kasper can be as enthusiastic about the Sox without sounding phony, inauthentic, or ingenuine. Even still I am not a fan and it will take a long while for his embodiment of all things Cubs to wear off.
  11. Thanks. If true it makes his tv appearances much much more tolerable.
  12. Will Kasper be filling in for Stone, or for Jason? I got the impression that he'd be filling in for Jason, which makes my stomach churn.
  13. Cruz falling to bits like every other DH the Sox have signed makes me want to steer clear. Sub for any of the bat/no glove non-tenders and I'm on board.
  14. Radio I can ignore as I rarely listen, but this is exponentially worse. WTF?
  15. Steve Stone had a history with the Sox. And also didn't jump directly into the Sox booth immediately after 15 years of being Mr Cubbie Blue on tv.
  16. Perhaps my initial reaction was a tad hyperbolic and meat headed, I can own that. I find Kasper insufferable and this announcement was a bit of a slap in the face by ESPN. To me he is bland monotony steeped in Cubs homerism, and that will now be calling Sox games. For those that think he is good, what makes him so good?
  17. I can't even take devious pleasure that this angers Cubs fans. Len Kasper is the worst. Fuck ESPN.
  18. I find Len Kasper to be an insufferable listen. The tv voice of the team I hate the most now doing radio for my favorite team. The 2020 offseason keeps getting more wonderful day by day.
  19. Welp, I’m never listening to the Sox on the radio again. ???
  20. If Lopez becomes a serviceable reliever it's a win at this point.
  21. Music to my ears! Imagine what Cease taking a Giolio-like leap forward does for this rotation.
  22. I was unaware of that. That's probably too much injury risk to be dependable.
