I don't necessarily think these figures are outlandish, but where are you getting them from?

Solid defender, super high BABIP. He's decent, and yes, part of his high WAR is due to the CF positional adjustment. Once his BABIP lowers, his numbers will look more normal. He also might hit a few more home runs while that happens. He's a FA after 2020, so I wouldn't mind trading him and running with an Eloy/Cordell/Tilson OF full time, with Palka off the bench and Robert in the wings

Given the tough home schedule in June, I predict it will be either the 10th or 11th, which is a 2 day home series against the Nationals. I highly doubt they debut him at home against the Yankees or Cubs (although it would be pretty cool if he dominated the team that let him go in his debut)

I was sort of hoping Anderson would do some wild celebration at 2nd just to add more salt in the wound but I'll take the game winning double and win

But 111 is better than what we've gotten from RF, and 110 is better than what we've gotten from Yolmer. Plus Machado is a defense-first player whose defense has been elite. I still believe he outperforms that AAV.

From what I remember, you did prefer Harper to Machado but also preferred neither, if given the choice. Correct me if I'm wrong though

The idea is that he'd know before the draft that we're gonna offer him an overslot deal, so other teams would know that he isn't interested in signing with them. Kind of like Steele Walker last year.

I'm not as familiar with slot allocations but if Hinds is projected as a late 1st rounder and the Sox draft Abrams as opposed to Vaughn/Rutschman, we may have ~$2-3 million extra that we could offer Hinds that could effectively make it like another 1st round selection.

If we get Abrams, we could conceivably overslot him

Abreu's career wRC+ is 133 and he has never put up a wRC+ of 110 or worse over a full season. Not sure if that's what you were going for, or if you're just projecting what you think he'll be at in a couple years
