  1. Maybe, but I think it would hurt us if anything
  2. He said nobody ever talks about it though.
  3. A lot of 0-1 win predictions in here. One of the rare Soxtalk threads where overwhelming negativity can actually be proven wrong in a short span
  4. Agreed. Anderson might even start due to his new popularity nationwide
  5. Agreed. I think he gets way more than that, though. Like, 4/80+. He's the kind of guy front offices love
  6. Flip Leury and Eloy and I’m a huge fan. also wouldn’t mind flipping Moncada and Anderson but that’s not a big deal
  7. Sorry I've been out of the loop, but where did you hear this? I feel like Brogdon is gonna get paid way more than people are expecting.
  8. I think the rumors were Rivera/Fulmer/Bummer and Fry/Bush, something like that
  9. Highly doubt it. Seth Beer is a more realistic trade target from Houston, IMO.
  10. That's not even a lowball offer. I would offer him like 4/12 and see if he bites. 4/25, which is 6+ AAV for a guy with a .400+ BABIP? I think he'd jump all over that
  11. I'm about to start Powerball by Rob Neyer which seems kinda sorta similar. Let me know how you like Astroball.
  12. Easily. And I don't get why there's so much doubt. He's 23 and improved vastly between seasons, all while having to play at a new position. I have complete faith in him to continue to improve.
  13. Agreed. It's literally just a three true outcomes aggregator. It doesn't tell you anything you can't tell by just looking at a pitcher and determining if he's a strikeout guy, high walks guy, and/or high home run rate guy
  14. FIP is not a predictive statistic
  15. With Giolito on the mound, I bet he will be.
  16. Gonzalez: extremely low BABIP, hopeful that it begins to normalize Basabe: SSS, returning from injury, and heating up lately Rivera: I never liked him anyway haha
  17. ... interesting read. Also, WSD tweeted earlier that Frazier shoved Eaton into a locker during their altercation in 2016
  18. Oh, casual fans will hate Collins, but I couldn't care less. He's gonna be a very solid offensive player.
  19. You think Mendick and Collins would be rushed if they were called up in the next month?
  20. What has gone the wrong way though? Is a marginal increase in K-rate over a 3 week span really that big of a deal? If you ask me, the biggest difference between April and May is that his BABIP dropped from .370 in April (slightly above career average) to .326 for May (slightly below career average). His overall numbers, as a result, seem like a decent indicator of what he'll be moving forward to me.
  21. So basically, you're both establishing that K-rate over a small sample is meaningless
  22. A lot of the skepticism seems to be from people thinking he's in a slump. However over the past 2 weeks he is hitting .263/.349/.526 for an .875 OPS.
  23. They'll look foolish within a month
  24. Somehow tying/winning would be extra satisfying with Osuna being the pitcher.
