  1. Agree. There is also the Covid factor. They said Boston had their 14th player affected by Covid. Imagine what that is going to do to teams in the playoffs if key players are lost for a week in October
  2. Boston is one of the worst defensive teams in AL. They made the plays tonight. I saw them against Tampa last week and they were horrible on bad throws and missed cutoffs,
  3. You don't put a guy on IL if he is out for a couple of days, As I said Boston didn't out Martinez on IL because he missed yesterday and today,
  4. Same reason Boston couldn't use Martinez last night or tonight. Banged up but that doesn't send him to IL
  5. Vaughn was not available according to the broadcast.
  6. They didn't hit Vaughn because he was not available. He was banged up according to the broadcast.
  7. A lot of bullpen support got the victory. Rodon was really good in his stint.
  8. How about Baltimore. They are a poor AAA tewam
  9. Tampa 's last 6 are on the road w 3 at Houston and 3 at NY. So Houston may have a shot
  10. It may actually help Houston and Sox if Boston can take 3 or 4.
  11. Boston and Tampa play 7 times in next 10 days. Interesting to see how Sale will do in possibly 2 starts against Rays.
  12. HUH??? You think there is only pressure on winning teams? Many of the players on losing teams are playing to survive in the majors. A few bad performances and they could be back in AAA or cut loose. That is also pressure
  13. But to be fair, we saw both teams last night have big innings. So maybe there was pressure
  14. Harry: Don't speak too soon. Grandal made a huge splash in his return. But he usually breaks down late in the year. Dodgers aside, he has struggled in Postseason play his whole career. But this year his games played are down due to injury so lets hope he is solid postseason this year.
  15. Get the tetanus shots first. By the way I hope it is not bad luck posting today's game thread before yesterday's was closed.
  16. FWIW--I think an injury to Lynn or Gio might be worse. TA is certainly a key on both sides of the ball. Grandal has historically been a bust in postseason play. Maybe with his limited play this year he will reverse his late season problems
  17. Kimbrel had 2 wild pitches last night. Not sure that is a sign of a guy not hyped up. More likely a guy too hyped up
  18. Yankees and Tampa have had just as many injuries as White Sox and they are rolling along. Now maybe they have better role players but what we saw in NY series was not much better.
  19. Why wouldn't Lynn have the same fear? He couldn't have been too scared since he did a great job shutting down their offense.
  20. What does that mean?. Pedroia in his first year hit below .200. Madrigal may have a better career or worse than Pedroia. Time will tell. Making that statement after Madrigal's brief stint is ridiculous.
  21. Yankees for example Gardner (.212), Odor (.222) and Higashioka ( .169. ) and they were w/o their closer. We lost 2 of 3 at home
