Jose is flat out 1 of the best pure hitters in baseball...don't care what anyone says
-
Ok...sorry Tim Anderson.
-
Dont love the call of a low slider on 3-2 to Grichick.
-
Do him a favor and call it an error...even tho it really was
-
Tim Anderson demonstrating exactly to never field a ground ball...keep doing that and it will be an error sooner rather than later
-
Yolmer! Dummy

According to Yahoo Avi is out of the lineup tonight? Just took him out of my fantasy lineup because it says he's scratched. Leury and Delmonico in. I saw the twitter post with Avi in the lineup...is yahoo just wrong? -
Where does Nicky Delmonico play after 2018?
TheFutureIsNear replied to KnightsOnMintSt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My guess is that he’ll be bouncing between AAA and the majors...no idea why so many are high on Delmonico. Just not enough of a track record consistently hitting well to think that he’s a major league player in my opinion, and not sure his D is good enough to keep him as a bench player...hopefully he can prove me wrong and he sticks with the team but I’ll be surprised if he’s ever more than the 25th man on the roster. -
I'm going to say Ian Clarkin emerges as a true #3 starter candidate with a an era under 3.5 in AA

White Sox acquire Joakim Soria, Luis Avilan and $3 Million

Very good deal. We needed bullpen pieces and got them for virtually nothing. When was Jake Peter ever going to beat out Sally and Yolmer? -
Have You Seen Jake Burger Lately?
TheFutureIsNear replied to Ross Gload Fan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Looks good and trim, sweet beard too. Not claiming to be an expert... but shouldn't those hands still be moving a little less? I was always taught to keep the hands back and load up sooner. Just seems like he'd be easy to get off balance with all of those moving parts in his swing. -

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
TheFutureIsNear replied to peppers312's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't feel like reading through 100 pages...is there an actual idea of what a package would be? With only 1 year left its really hard to judge. Wonder if Fulmer would be a good headliner with maybe a Spencer Adams and Micker? Something like even close? Maybe throw in Yolmer... -
With the state of our bullpen and being in full rebuild I see no reason to not draft an arm and hope they can stick in the pen. There are always big arms with potential, just a matter of picking the right 1...easier said than done of course.

Brewers Reportedly Shopping OF’ers
TheFutureIsNear replied to TheFutureIsNear's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What if the Brewers were interested in Fulmer? Which 1, if any, of their OF'ers would you trade Fulmer for? -
Santana, Broxton, Brinson, and Brett Philips all could be available. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/12/gian...go-santana.html Personally I’d throw feelers out and see what Brett Phillips would cost. Although Santana is also very intriguing with 4 years of control. Not sure what kind of starting pitching they are looking for though...

Groome, Chavis, and Ockimey? Hard to imagine what a trade could be given what they have left and Groome being so young/far alway. Can’t see how an Abreu for JBJ trade makes sense, that’s only 1 year of added team control for Bradley vs Abreu right?

Looks For A Match In A Jose Abreu Trade
TheFutureIsNear replied to GenericUserName's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (oldsox @ Nov 24, 2017 -> 04:37 PM) Not even close. Murphy failed miserably last season. He's not as good as Kevin Smith. Rockies would include Rodgers, Tapia, and Pint for Abreu. Murphy had 280 AB’s all of last year and 26 were at the major league level. And you wrote him off already lol? And keep dreaming if you think we are getting all 3 of those prospects -
Looks For A Match In A Jose Abreu Trade

Abreu to Rockies for McMahon, Tom Murphy, and Ryan Castellini -
Jose Abreu traded to Rockies for Ryan McMahon, Tom Murphy and Ryan Castellani. Avi traded to Diamondbacks for Jasrado Chisholm, Socrates Brito, and Cody Reed. Free Agent Signings- Jake McGee, Luke Gregerson, and Jeremy Hellickson

White Sox Trade: James Shields and Kevan Smith for Adrian Gonzalez, Yasmany Grandal, Brock Stewart, and $5-8M in cash (sox take on about $10mil in salary) White Sox trade: Carson Fulmer for Maikel Franco (Despite his 20 or so solid innings at the end of the year I'm not a Fulmer beliver) White Sox sign: Jeremy Hellickson 1 year $8M with a team option, Steve Cishek 2 years $14M, Kevin Siegrest 1 year $3M, David Hernandez 1 year $5M, Jarrod Dyson 2 years $12M LF- Dyson 2B-Moncada DH- Abreu 1B- Gonzalez 3B- Franco RF- Avi C- Grandal SS- Anderson CF- Leury Bench- Yolmer, Davidson, Delmonico, Navarez Giolito Lopez Stewart Hellickson ?(someone to eat innings until we have a call up or 2 ready) Bullpen- Petricka, Putnam, Siegrest Hernandez, Cishek....or something like that. The bullpen is probably going to be a mess regardless. The rebuild is still fully on, but we'd be potentially putting a fun offense out there with some young pitchers. And both Gonzalez and Grandal are free agents after 2018 so there's no added $ to the payroll for when we could potentially be set up to make a big splash in free agency after 2018.
