Fulmer has done absolutely nothing to be regarded as a top 9 prospect in our system other than being a high draft pick. Not saying to completely give up on him, but the idea of him being a TOR (top 2) pitcher seems pretty far fetched to me. If he was a 3rd round pick would he even be top 12 in our system based on what he's done so far in his career?

I know it could go either way, but I think it's kind of weird that everybody seems to be discounting that Burger could actually lose weight and get in better shape going from a small college to a major league program. I'm sure he will see a massive upgrade in weight rooms and with $ in his pocket and access to dieticians his nutrition intake should get a lot better from when he was a poor college kid. Of course some guys also eat their way out of positions/the league once they get paid, but hopefully we scouted him enough to feel comfortable that he will work hard.

Draft clearly didn't go as we hoped. Burger was the safest bat left and I don't have a problem with it all.

Haseley Adell Beck Smith White Hall Pratto That's about my wishlist of realistic targets in order, although 2-4 could probably be shuffled in any order.

Haseley is unlikely to fall out of the top ten given how good his season was. Although considered a "safe" pick, I would not draft Pavin Smith in the top 10. First base is such an easy position to fill that I would be looking for more upside with a top ten selection. Smith does not have the necessary speed to play in the outfield either. There are currently only 13 1b in the league with an OPS over .800. Only 11 last year at the end of the season. Halsey is definitely the ideal pick for me @ 11. If he's not there I'd take an underslit gamble on either Burger or Prato. I know both wouldn't be popular picks but I just don't like some of these guys being mocked in the 9-12 range.

Not only is Bukauskas a small right handed college pitcher like Fulmer, but they also both have violent deliveries. Jb seems like he has to generate a lot of torque in his upper body/shoulder rather than with his lower body like he should. Could very easily lead to arm trouble later.

Can someone tell me what the issue with Burger is? Is that he goes to a small school? He shows + power, is walking more than K'ing, and and has good contact skills. So is it level of competition? Or that he's not a great athlete? To me he seems like a low floor, but still high ceiling prospect that should be in high consideration for pick #11.

Not going to pretend I've done a bunch of scouting on these prospects, but I'm tired of + tool prospects that isn't a hit tool. Also don't care about premium positions for that matter. Let's get a guy who has a good shot of being a good professional hitter for once? This organization has a serious lack of them. If Burger or Hiura are the pick I won't be upset, although I'd prefer 1 of the kids from Virginia if possible.

I think Davidson is the most likely to be able to continue what he is currently doing...although his average will drop some. Leury is more of a 4th OF'er/utility guy. Which isn't a bad thing. Yolmer is probably hitting over his head right now...although I think he too can be a useful bench piece, possibly even a league average 2B
