So what do you guys think it takes to get a young catcher such as Grandal? We get him or any other top, young prospect these coming weeks, this off-season gets an A+++

Yeah I think De Aza has pretty much reached his ceiling as a player and agree that it would be wise to move him now. Though I don't know who would be worth more in a deal, a 24-year old Viciedo in a down year with potential to possibly hit 25 homers or De Aza who probably is what he is right now, a player with a decent blend of power and speed who should play left and not center.

I would possibly take the risk on him if he was starting at AAA. Probably would cost a little too much though as he may be more likely to go in a package where he could see time at 1B/DH (Toronto?)

Really hope we can still acquire another long-term catcher to start and deal Flowers away for something. Then let the 2 Rule V kids and Phegley fight it out for the backup job.

One rival exec believes the White Sox would like to trade outfielder Dayan Viciedo, who is now part of a crowded house with the addition of Eaton. Another baseball source said the White Sox have looked into the possibility of trading away second baseman Gordon Beckham.

Sign me up for this deal though I think the Jays would possibly get an expendable Nick Franklin over at third in your proposed deal.

I'd still like to see them deal for Grandal if at all possible. I know the Padres are high on Austin Hedges and probably wouldn't mind going with Hundley/Baker until he is ready.

I think he may actually have a better shot right now over Leury since he did step in as catcher during a game last year. Since its like Paulie and Dunn will be stepping in late in the game to bat for the catching spot, doesn't hurt to have an emergency guy on the bench that could step in in-case the backup gets hurt.
