7/28 Games
Lot of weak contact against Thompson, but his fastball seems light. I wonder what he could be with an org that's better at developing velo. Sox get pitchers and they all seem to lose mph without gaining more command/control.

7/28 Games
Quero occasionally a 1 knee catcher.

7/28 Games
Thompson 1, 2, 3. 91-92 with the fastball. Curve is lethal. Threw 1 pretty good change.

Broadcast says Peyton Pallette has a nickname: PayPal. Pretty good, I think.

Quero HBP. Thigh, not hurt. Misiorowski has no idea where it's going. 2-0 Barons, no one out, bases loaded.

7/28 Games
Quero in the line up against Misiorowski, a guy with the best stuff in MiLB. Good test for his first game.

7/28 Games
Peyton Pallette looks pretty good so far. Velo seems to be up a bit. He did give up a hard hit double after a bloop, but Kanny threw the runner out at the plate. 3K in 2IP so far.

Declan Cronin Called Up
Cronin might pitch tonight. Sox down to a 10 man staff. Playing 3 guys short right now, 4 if you count Vaughn being hurt.

Graveman to Astros for C Korey Lee
Are you referring to Matt Thompson? Cuz you may want to look at the progress he has made in AA this year. Guy is not a bust. May or may not be a starter eventually, but he is not irrelevant in a pitching-starved org.

Declan Cronin Called Up
Good stuff, doesn't know where it's going. Perfect righty compliment for Bummer. I actually love using the last two months to try and find cheap controllable bullpen arms. Sure beats signing them as free agents. Is Santos the closer now?

2023 MiLB catch all
Happy to see those guys get the AAA call up. I think that Hackenberg is a possible MLB player. The arm definitely plays. If he hits at all, he could make a nice career for himself, if only as a back up. Carlos Perez's days in the org seem numbered.

Graveman to Astros for C Korey Lee
Interesting. His MLB.com write up sounds non-too-promising and his numbers indicate that he has little to no offensive approach. But you always need catchers.

Lynn and Kelly to LAD for Trayce Thompson, RHSP Nick Nastrini and RHRP Jordan Leasure
One more point about Nastrini and Bush vs. Burke: Notice how both those guys were in AA and the Sox pushed Burke to a launching pad in AAA without a full or dominating AA season? I am not hating on Burke. It's possible that a saner org would have developed him properly.

Lynn and Kelly to LAD for Trayce Thompson, RHSP Nick Nastrini and RHRP Jordan Leasure
Before we congratulate the Sox too much on these deals for recent college pitchers Bush and Nastrini, I would like to point out that in the 2021 draft the Dodgers got Nastrini in the 4th round (bonus $500,000) and Ed Sheehan (who's in the majors) in the 6th round (bonus $244,500) which combine to be less than the Sox paid their top college pitching target Sean Burke in the third round ($900,000 bonus). Burke can't get the ball over the plate when he's healthy, and he hasn't been healthy. It's either scouting or pitching development or both, but the inability of the Sox to turn ANYONE they draft into an actual asset is why they suck.

Lynn and Kelly to LAD for Trayce Thompson, RHSP Nick Nastrini and RHRP Jordan Leasure
I would put Nastrini somewhere in the Sox top 6 prospects. I'd say he's ahead of everyone else in AA (Thompson, Mena, Cannon, Kelley). So like 5th or 6th, depending on how you value Ramos.

Lynn and Kelly to LAD for Trayce Thompson, RHSP Nick Nastrini and RHRP Jordan Leasure
I assume Trayce is to even out some money for Lynn's buyout? No way the Sox actually "want" him. Is he gonna keep them from losing 105 games? Doubt it. Like the return, though. Dodgers have like 8 legit guys AA or above. They absolutely needed to get 1 of them. Now, how much is he going to regress under the Sox piss-poor pitching development?

Jarred Walsh come on down?
Sadly, I think Walsh has serious health problems and no one can diagnose what it is. I believe that he'll stay with the Angels AAA team to collect the $900,000 he is owed.

7/27/23: Cleveland Guardians @ Chicago White Sox - 7:10 PM CDT TV: NBCSCH & Radio WMVP AM 1000
I had high hopes for him. Colas is like everything else about the Sox: soul-crushing disappointment.
