With the way LaRussa handles young players Sosa would probably play 3, 4 games a week to start with.

It’s a small sample size obviously but hey, he’s hitting. Can’t say that about over half the guys on the roster. Ride the hot hand. I would rather watch Mendick than Harrison.

The answer is starting pitching (outside of Keuchel and Velasquez).

I just checked the roster and counting Graveman and Cease, they should currently be at 39 (since the Keuchel DFA).

I'm thinking a pillow contract. Give him 2 years (the first being the rest of this year) and let him rehab with a team the remainder of this season and then go into next year with him hopefully 100% healthy. Obviously he might look for more years but Boras clients aren't strangers to the pillow contract, rebuild value deals either.

And for some reason, people here will still give them the benefit of the doubt next off-season.
