  1. Yeah I'm perfectly fine with him being a great hitter in the 2 or 3 spot. And I don't really want the bat taken out of his hand if guys get caught stealing with 2 outs.
  2. Exactly. The lineup should be great. I don't want to take the bat out of anyone's hands plus risking possible injury hurting wrists and fingers sliding head first. Now depending on which speed guys are hitting 6, 7 in the lineup when you have a lesser hitter at the bottom (say McCann is in 9 spot and having a pre-2019 year for example), maybe you try steal.
  3. I'm in the same boat. There's value in these guys' speed even if they aren't stealing.
  4. Ah ok. This makes sense then that it could be him at the end of the trailer. Thanks.
  5. Read yesterday that Hoyer is one of the favorites.
  6. Yeah I would call a Zobrist move like a plan J or K. Basically, prices would have to be too high on trade candidates and we would have to miss out on Ozuna, Castellanos (don't like either of these first 2 as they aren't much in the OF, would take Castellanos as a DH/1B however), Calhoun, Puig, etc.
  7. Just looked him up to see if he played anyone in Breaking Bad. I don't remember a character named Ed.
  8. Makes it a little more interesting to watch. But dear God the end of the season can't get here soon enough (looking at Palka out in RF).
  9. Knowing this front-office, they will play games and it will drag out rather than getting it done ASAP.
  10. Agreed 100%. Won't cost prospects and just money. Won't get long-term being 32/33.
  11. I don't know if I'm ready for them to deal prospects yet. But McNeil doesn't seem realistic. Neither does Conforto. But with a new GM last off-season and Nimmo out most of the year, maybe there could be a match here without giving up something significant.
  12. He may not even want to play next season.
  13. I know people say this about just about every star, but by how much do they need to outbid a team? It is tough for guys to turn down the highest offer. A lot of it is an ego thing too. Like "I got paid more than this guy."
  14. I'd rather they sign a Cole or Strasburg (assuming opt-out) than give overpay Ozuna who isn't a RF (yes, I realize they can afford to sign 2 huge deals...but come on).
  15. A 1 WAR RF is probably about 4 WAR better than this season's RF situation.
  16. Was watching some of the game last night on the Fox Sports broadcast and they mentioned they have made the most outs on the bases this year.
  17. Honestly he would probably accept that in a heartbeat.
  18. No reason you can't have Mendick, Leury and Engel on one team. Unless you want to have more of a bat first back up to hit against tough lefties late in games (example: as someone said earlier, Kendrick).
  19. I was going to say, since Moncada isn't moving back to 2B (most likely), this should read "left-side of the infield."
  20. Eovaldi, Smyly with Cubs, Garrett Richards with Padres this past offseason (he just came back to make a start actually). Edit: Pineda with Twins maybe?
  21. I miss when the Sox were actually good enough to be someone's rival.
  22. Basically say the same about hot female teachers that bang their students that are like 15/16 (sometimes even younger). Just go to a bar and find a guy.
  23. They had a sky-high price on him if I recall. Even if they reduced it, they still likely could have gotten a good haul. And then this news would have come out. Have to be kicking themselves now. Also, that guy has been such a cancer for them in the clubhouse it seems. I feel like he's been involved in every clubhouse altercation you read about. Like you said, HE GONE. Edit: if he gets released, which team does he eventually sign with, the Cubs? And which reporter will praise Theo and write about how it's great they are giving him another chance?
