Really wish Eaton was healthy. You gotta figure that Werth would be on the bench if he was. Taylor still would have come up and impressed when Werth when on the dl this season.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 06:19 AM) I think he is referring to the two top prospects playing this year Ah yeah that would make sense. Thanks.

QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 01:26 AM) It’s still shocking to see the opinions you form when you clearly have no grasp of the concepts being presented and discussed. 1. The “trading” should never be done. If there is a chance to improve the foundation of the team, every opportunity should be explored. 2. The specific idea presented here is to acquire the 25 year old Maikel Franco, who has over 1500 ML AB’s in his career. His arrival would be to help the ML club now and in the future, in theory helping the big league club win more games now. 3. There isn’t a single fan that’s wants the rebuild to last any longer than it needs to. Your reading compression skills may lead you to that conclusion, but no one in this thread, or anywhere else wants this team to lose in the long term. The sooner you understand that, the quicker you’ll actually understand what is being discussing. Franco hasn't exactly torn it up in the majors yet. Don't think it would cost a ton and don't think Phillies would give up on him yet (one more to figure it out and if not, do the Phillies sign one of Machado/Arenado)

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 11:26 PM) Yankees Timeline: -Trade 2 relievers in a lost season for for 2 top prospects (neither of which even played in the series) -Resign 1 of those relievers anyway -Trade for 2 more shutdown relievers -Beat the other reliever you traded last year and move on to the ALCS after a 6 month rebuild I hate it The world series? Both did.

QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 03:14 PM) Got to say, Arrieta is a true beast today. Got those short sleeves on in the cold/rain, has the mighty hipster beard, that guy looks like a true badass right now . This just in, Trea Turner still sucks right now. Guess he doesn't have any balls or guts

Shohei Otani is likely coming to the USA
Bob Sacamano replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Otani to have ankle surgery. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/10/shoh...le-surgery.html Guy should probably just wait a couple years and get healthy and dominate more in that time. -
QUOTE (35thstreetswarm @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 11:10 AM) Hopefully he dominates for 8 innings and they save Scherzer for relief of Gio in game 5. That'd be beautiful.
-
QUOTE (35thstreetswarm @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 11:01 AM) Part of me feels like this is the worst case scenario. Sick and/or pissed off Strasburg, under maximum pressure, and the whole thing is surrounded by an air of impending doom. I think I prefer a sick and/or pissed off Strasburg over Roark.
-
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) Strasburg now expected to start. Yessss.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 10:18 AM) Got my MoviePass card as well. So I just go up and pay with it like I would normally? The note says you have to check in first. I'm easily confused. You have to download the app and select the movie you want to see on your phone/device. I haven't used it yet either (didn't get a chance this past weekend). Maybe DA can chime in again.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 09:32 AM) Could be, but I will still watch it lol. solo twins is a bit different in that they are opposing forces unlike Luke and Leia. True that. I was mostly joking.
-
The Nats pretty much deserve to lose.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 08:54 AM) It kind of looks to me that they are still circling around to Kylo and Rey being the Solo twins. And that doesn’t bother me I’m excited for it though, it looks good Copy/paste of Empire Strikes Back.
-
Wow. Strasburg really should have been ready to go yesterday just-in case. They're facing elimination. You could have had him come out of the pen yesterday and if you won, had Geo go the next game.
-
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 03:35 PM) The fact that the Boston game time, which started at noon yesterday was not announced until midnight (less than 12 hours prior to first pitch) shows you just how the networks run sports. That was absurd. No way in hell this is rained out. I don't think this is accurate. I coulda sworn I saw the game time as noon on Sunday when I looked.

Projected Arbitration Salaries for 2018

QUOTE (Soxnfins @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 08:55 AM) In my opinion, I think Putnam gets non-tendered, then resigned for a cheaper price... Even though he is an injury risk, it's worth gambling on him at, say, around 800k. I know we need arms, but I really hope Petricka isn't back. Get him out of here. Knowing the Sox, he may be a guy they non-tender and try and do a MLC on. That I'd feel better about, but still. Putnam is missing most of next year so I think he will be non-tendered and signed to a minor league deal. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 10:05 AM) Exactly, your two best relievers didn't even pitch in a super-tight playoff game where your starter left in the 7th. Splits got in the way of letting your best players play. Yeah and I get that Doolittle is the closer but c'mon, dude has to face Rizzo in that situation.
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 09:33 AM) It's one thing to pull Scherzer, but to bring in Solis/Perez instead of Doolittle/Madson? Why did you trade for these relievers if you aren't going to use them in the biggest spots? I thought the same. Granted they still would have countered with Almora if you bring Doolittle in to face Schwarber but he should have come on to face Rizzo. And if he gets that out, he could come in the 9th.
-
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 09:30 AM) I thought you were just playing along. LMFAO I thought he was too lol

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/10/proj...s-for-2018.html For the White Sox: Al Alburquerque (5.030) – $1.1MM Avisail Garcia (4.167) – $6.7MM Zach Putnam (4.135) – $1.4MM Jake Petricka (4.044) – $1.1MM Jose Abreu (4.000) – $17.9MM Danny Farquhar (3.136) – $1.5MM Leury Garcia (3.025) – $1.2MM Carlos Rodon (2.168) – $2.0MM Yolmer Sanchez (2.134) – $2.1MM A couple of these guys likely won't be back (AL-AL, Putnam, Farquhar). This also may end up being a little off when it's all said and done but still, a close estimate.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 05:44 AM) Dodgers v Indians - coming soon. I'm hoping for Astros v Nats at this point but not looking good on the NL side.
-
Well Dodgers sweep...f***. Guess I'll have to root for them depending on what happens in the other series lol
-
QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 12:45 AM) Are you allowed to have such a dream while simultaneously "Greging" all over any rebuild thread that pops up? Well... to be fair, I do suppose that is indeed a part of "Greging" after all. That's what i thought too! This is exactly what the Sox are trying to accomplish.
-
QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 9, 2017 -> 03:13 PM) The trade should have been Benitendi, Moncada, Kopech, and Devers. #fail ( this is a joke - of course. ) I would have needed to change my pants at least twice if that deal happened haha

QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 9, 2017 -> 01:21 PM) Farrell ejected by Wegner. Ha. What in the hell are you doing, WEGNER!?!?!?!
