  1. Why do some people who want Bregman want to play him at third? He'd be far more valuable at a middle infield position. He just played more 3B than second the last year and a half because of Correa and Altuve.
  2. QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) If Bregman is on the table, you make that deal. Him and Anderson on the left side of the infield for the next 5 years sounds juicy. Astros make the most sense, they are so damn close to being the top team in the AL. They need that front of the rotation arm though. Anderson and Bregman up the middle. And it would be 6 years. Even better.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 12:34 PM) Why exactly would we care if Sale is traded to an AL team? Exactly. He would be on the Astros for 3 years. Do people think we will be a good team during that time?
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 12:26 PM) Between the two teams, I would much rather see Sale traded to the National League. I don't care as long as they get the best package. By the timewe are good again, he will be getting paid as a Dodger.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 12:25 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 9m9 minutes ago Anthony Ranaudo's departure to Japan leaves the #WhiteSox 40-man roster at 39. Too bad that couldn't happen when we needed to add guys to the 40. Oh well I don't think of them will even be drafted.
  6. Who knows. Maybe Sale goes to the Astros and Dodgers get desperate for Q.
  7. QUOTE (Carpe Diem @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 11:51 AM) In regards for the Sale derby. Red Sox actually appear to be telling the truth when they say they won't pony up the price it would take to get Sale. Apparently Bregman and Springer are being dangled (not together) but the team still would ideally prefer trading him to the NL. Take this with a grain of salt if you want, but my source has been right about everything he has said so far dating back to 2014. Bregman please.
  8. f*** that. Eat the rest of the deal. You need someone to throw innings the next couple of years. If anything, try to attach him to someone with already lower value like Frazier, Melky, Robertson etc.
  9. I don't think this strategy would work during the regular season compared to the playoffs.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 07:11 AM) I think they should trade Sale, Jones, Frazier, and Melky at a minimum. Maybe Abreu and Q too if they get a good offer. I think it'll be Sale, Frazier, Melky, and Jennings. Maybe Robertson but they might just see if he can dominate the first couple months before trading him. Edit: I keep forgetting about Gonzalez. If a team needs a back end starter hes there.
  11. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 12:35 AM) They will probably hold onto our long term core in case we hit big on the Sale trade. Then move most of the remaining players in 2-3 years if it is a bust. The short term contracts will probably be gone this offseason like you mentioned. Exactly. They don't need to trade all right now.
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 07:06 PM) Do you have a point or what? haha I get what you were trying to say and you didn't mean that it is ok. You don't really need to explain anymore because people can't/won't understand. This story is straight out of every exaggerated college fraternity movie/show.
  13. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 06:35 PM) Now that Castro has signed with the Twins, I can't help but wonder who the White Sox are going to have as their catcher in 2017. Are they going to bring back Avila? Are they interested in Wieters? Either 1) they sign a right-handed hitting back up to pair with Narvaez and act as a mentor (Ryan Hanigan?), 2) bring back Avila, and 3) probably very unlikely, they sign Ramos to an inflated one year deal to attempt to flip or get a draft pick for next offseason.
  14. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 06:04 PM) Not a guess, he's got information on the club's plans. So we should expect Sale to get traded for the best package (even if it's less than what the front office and us fans originally wanted). Does he happen to know for sure which teams are having serious discussions with the Sox (I'm not talking about the ones we know in the media but maybe someone who hasn't been reported on)?
  15. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 05:52 PM) Buster Olney doesn't believe there will be an 2017 season interruption Great. And neither do I.
  16. QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 05:32 PM) http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/labor-p...baseball-112216 Ken Rosenthal reports that a labor lockout is looking possible. Great...lets just drag this offseason out longer (though I don't think there will be a lock-out).
  17. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 05:31 PM) I didn't hear this as a "media type" or whatever. This is what someone around the team expects to happen. No posturing or manipulation. So this is only by his own opinion? Like a guess? And I never expected both to go this offseason.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) KLaw chat from today http://meadowparty.com/blog/2016/11/22/klawchat-112216/ Could definitely see that last part.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) Eno Sarris ‏@enosarris 4h4 hours ago The average Major League Baseball Player in 1900 was five foot eight & weighed 173 pounds. Last year, he was six-one & weighed 201 pounds. I'd love to hear thoe stats for football. Of course not quite as long ago.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 01:44 PM) He didn't hurt anybody, did he? Those uniforms were a joke. The Sox should have consulted him since he was scheduled to pitch in those awful uniforms. It's his arm. If he's totally uncomfortable it does nobody any good. Didn't he already tell somebody he didn't want to pitch in them? From my understanding, they knew since last year's game they wore those. I think it was reported that he said he'd never want to wear those while he is pitching. Forgot where it was posted.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 01:07 PM) I just think the Red Sox would rather have a 40 million Sale on their roster with all of their spects than a $13 million Sale and a boatload gone. Have to see on the rest. The dodgers did not re-sign Greinke after all. Greinke isn't a good example. He was a free agent at what, 32? Sale is 27.
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 10:58 AM) Thing is, its more like $20M+ in savings. Sale would make $30M+ per year easy in FA. If Sale never signed his extension, he'd be a free agent right now in a pool with no other pitchers like him or even close. He would easily get an 8 year/$250 mill deal (Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees, Cubs?)
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 07:46 AM) They had to put it on snapchat and ruin this kind of thing for everyone in the futur. Assholes. Lol
