  1. Yeah, I don't see anyway this happens. I actually think Fields the player can have a great amount of value for a team and could really help Atlanta, but because he's going into Year 4 of his rookie deal, his worth takes a fairly large hit
  2. This is correct, because as we all know, this is the cycle the Bears continue to find themselves in, by their own doing. Lame duck coach inherits new QB, it doesn't work, coach is fired, new staff brought in, 2nd year QB is now on his second system in as many years, usually there are some bumps with the first year head coach, so now 2 years are potentially wasted, and now the QB you got to "Reset" the clock is on Year 3 and his development has been stunted. There were talks on the radio yesterday that Flus may have actually gotten a contract extension that we don't know about or wasn't announced publicly. If you keep Flus, which I don't want, you have to give him at least 2 more seasons.
  3. Which is why Kevin Warren is in the building
  4. Might be a total disaster, but the Bears could be the most watched/interesting team in the league next year with Harbaugh/Williams. And if the Bears want to do it, they can..will only cost money.
  5. Of course there is. And I think anyone who says differently has blind hate to Justin or irrational love to Williams. They can win more games with Fields still at QB with a better cast around him. But ideally you'd like to have that franchise QB you know is the one.
  6. So actual time with the ball in his hand yes I can believe it. I guess I just read the tweet a little differently, like it infers that Justin had more to work with than Love did, which I don't think was the case at all.
  7. Two separate issues, but I don’t believe that tweet for a second. Anyone with working eyes can tell you Love had much more of a pocket snd time than Fields yesterday.
  8. Why don’t you hold Fields to those same standards? Because if you did, you’d want to make a change at QB
  9. From what I read, they did 10 minute exit interviews today with the entire roster from like 10am-5pm, Pace and Flus were conducting the meetings. If they were moving on, I’d have to imagine they would have fired him at like 8am this morning. Now, I would certainly hope they are exploring all options and if someone like Harbaugh expressed interest, doesn’t mean they can’t move in a different direction…but I get the sense if Flus did all these interviews, he’s safe
  10. Here is a list of NFL QB's that are better than Justin Fields, in alphabetical order: Josh Allen Jared Goff Jalen Hurts Lamar Jackson Jordan Love Patrick Mahomes Kyler Murray Dak Prescott Brock Purdy Matthew Stafford CJ Stroud Tua Tagovailoa Russell Wilson I didn't include guys like Cousins, Rodgers, Trevor Lawrence, Derek Carr, but could have. Including those names, that's over half the league. It's time to think bigger.
  11. Everyone has a different definition of "elite" but if you're asking if they should expect them to be better than 2023/2024 Justin Fields by the end of their second year in the NFL? Then yes, and that isn't an unrealistic expectation at all.
  12. I like Justin. I think his development has been stunted with the Bears many times. Probably has a different career trajectory with a well-run franchise. But to your point, the reality is we've had 35 starts with him and have a very good idea of who he is as a Chicago Bear. They are going to need more out of the QB position if they want to win playoff games. I am not an avid watcher of college football, if Drake Maye was walking down the street next to me I wouldn't have a clue. But rookie QB's can be successful in Year 1, as we have seen multiple times. Drafting someone at 1 doesn't mean they are punting on the season. And they would be absolutely be investing into the team for the long term. Keeping Fields doesn't do that, because by trading out of No. 1 and keeping Fields, you still haven't found your franchise QB and they're just kicking the can down the road.
  13. I don’t know how these things go together. Let’s remove Fields first season from the equation, let’s just go with the last two years. What has he shown you to tell you he is going to make a major leap, and he’ll lead this team over the Packers and other quality teams? The Bears can’t be ok with “ok” They have a super unique opportunity with the No. 1 pick, and you say “Well if it doesn’t work out after next year, go get a QB.” They won’t have a better opportunity than this.
  14. With another loss to GB where the game wasn’t really all that close, if I’m Poles I’m taking this incredibly unique opportunity he created for himself (and deserves credit for) to get in a new staff and QB. You know the ceiling here. And it’s not a Super Bowl
  15. God they played like s%*# today.
  16. Yeah that's horseshit, and CONTINUES to happy every week
  17. If anything, this game was a really good microcosm of the problems with the Bears. - Fields has not had enough games where he is the main reason they won the game. They aren't losing today because of Fields, but he's done nothing to help them - Has been absolutely no pash rush today, like even a little bit. That's a talent and scheme issue, and both need to be seriously addressed - The WR core still sucks. There needs to be another option out there outside of DJ, there just isn't a ton of talent for Fields to throw to - The offensive line has been BAD. You've got two legit starters in Jenkins and Wright, everyone else is just a body, and multiple guys on the OL are plain bad
  18. It's still the most simple element in sports. There is no such thing as a good secondary with no pash rush.
  19. Fields has to hit that, that camera angle was perfect, threw behind him
  20. Not at all. It’s been your “normal” Fields day
  21. Will bet you $1000 that does not happen
  22. Probably, but also the easiest position to fill, don’t think it should be a major concern
  23. Amazing what a QB can do with a clean pocket play after play
