  1. The Sox are definitely not a podcast, but it may be a stretch to call them a “baseball team”
  2. There is no evidence it had anything to do with his disability. It certainly sounds like they didn’t have a good relationship, and I’m sure both have pretty large egos. Brooks quote sounds like something an asshole says to someone who’s been an asshole before.
  3. The owner of the Chicago White Sox, in one of the largest media markets in the world, already said they won't be in the sweepstakes for Ohtani. So the odds are actually less than your sun analogy.
  4. This does NOT prove your point and most replies in that thread were saying the same thing to you..
  5. New? I’d start cheering for them
  6. The issue isn’t with “spa days” for players. You’re making incredible amount of investments into assets (well at least some MLB teams are) and you need to take care and maintain those assets so they perform at the highest level. The issue is players taking “advantage” of those spa days. We have enough data to tell us Eloy, Moncada, and Robert to a degree seem unwilling to take the field unless they are at 100%, which isn’t very likely come July, August. And with the inmates seeming running the asylum on 35th and Shields, it’s going to lead to a lot of missed games from players and a bad environment. There is also enough evidence from former players over the last 2-3 seasons that the clubhouse hasn’t been all that interested in winning. Burger said it after his first game with the Marlins. Pedro isn’t the guy, and this roster ain’t it either. As always, nothing changes until it changes at the top.
  7. He'd be a "marked man" on whatever team he played for. He's 18 and the most hyped prospect since McDavid, and in fact I think because he's in Chicago, they've been hyping him more than even McDavid got. The rebuild is right on schedule. It's no secret they need more firepower. It will come.
  8. Nothing. And that's the point. It's fine if you don't like Jason. Seen plenty of those posts in this thread. He's actually not my favorite either. But I acknowledge his talent, along with near universal praise within the industry. That means something. This organization is at the lowest point it's been, probably ever, and they let one of the only "strengths" of the organization leave for Detroit...because why? What I can't wrap my head around is people like @tray always giving the Sox the "benefit of the doubt." "Oh I'm sure there is more to this story." The "more" in this case is how poorly this entire franchise is run by one man. That's the more. It's not complicated, it's not a conspiracy theory, no matter how hard you want it to be. He's an old, out of touch billionaire that has shown NO desire to run his organization with any sense of purpose, drive, or desire to achieve something greater than the absolute bare minimum. But keep defending that, it's going GREAT.
  9. I have one guess ?
  10. Truthfully, this won’t make much difference to me and most Sox fans. I watched probably 100 innings of White Sox Baseball last year. That number may be lower in 2024.
  11. In the 2023 postseason: - Teams to score first went 32-9 - Teams to out-homer opponents went 25-4 (22-6 last PS) - 49.1% of runs were scored via HR (was 41.0% in '23 RS, 46.8% in '22 PS)
  12. https://x.com/byrobertmurray/status/1721910455181201737?s=46&t=Nd9oJCYs4TMp8_32NrPiMA why are the raiding the Angels staff?
  13. Why do you care about how much a team spends, specifically on a manager? It doesn't count against the tax. Do you believe the Cubs giving him 8 million a year will preclude them from signing a player? If not, then as a fan, how could you be even mildly upset the team you cheer for went out and hired without question the best manager in the market?
  14. You didn't answer my question. Why wouldn't you want your team to spend 40 million on a manager?
  15. Why?
  16. One of the many things that has always amazed me about you is the belief MLB is only played within the central time zone, and anyone that plays for teams on the coasts don’t exist.
  17. Rebuild is the wrong term. To rebuild, you are trying to reconstruct something that was already there. This is a start from scratch. It won't work because Jerry is the owner, among other reasons, but there is no core, very little to trade, and a FO that doesn't seem to take winning seriously. What's left? Pain.
  18. 1. This is probably the right move 2. Gun to my head, TA has a few really good seasons left in him, but it wouldn’t happen here.
  19. My question, as usual with the Sox: Was Paul Janish even in the conversation for any other MLB team to take any sort of development role, let alone the head of player development for an entire organization?
  20. That’s like a 50+ pick difference, and the Bears still have to sign him. Yikes
  21. I really believe if Vaughn was a part of the Braves, Rangers, Brewers, etc.....he's a much different player today than he is with the Sox.
  22. So then what is "ridiculous?"
