He’s 19, he’s got plenty of time to gel and mesh with the team. If he’s who the Hawks want him to be, they’ll want that extra year of control
-
As a reminder, due toe Canadian Hockey League rules, Korchinski isn't eligible to play in the American Hockey League this season, so it's either the NHL or the WHL. If he plays in more than nine games, the first year of his entry-level contract will be burned. I don't think the Blackhawks are too worried about that. In fact, they might even prefer it so he can get to his second contract quicker. The real key number to watch is 40 games. If Korchinski reaches that number, it counts as a full NHL season, which would get him to unrestricted free agency a year quicker than if he didn't (one of the ways a player can become a UFA is by accruing seven full seasons). I would be surprised if he surpassed that total. My prediction is that Korchinski will play somewhere between 10 and 39 games before he's eventually sent back to the WHL. He's almost a lock to make Team Canada's roster for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship and will likely play a significant role. https://www.nbcsportschicago.com/nhl/chicago-blackhawks/kevin-korchinski-made-opening-night-roster-but-is-his-spot-with-blackhawks-permanent/512565/

Good chance he isn't with the Hawks most of the year. Depends what they want to do, but most likely going to send him back to his club last year since he can't go to the AHL

1-0

On cue, they look completely lost in the 2nd half

DJ Moore is the best WR the Bears have ever had. Not a tall task, but he’s the absolute real deal
-
That was quite the opening drive
-
Again, what's the better option in Week 5? If they are still trying to "learn" about players, how does learning a whole new system work? And they can't fire Eberflus and keep Getsy (I mean they can, and it's the Bears) but that would be so dumb

Trevor Bauer receives 2 YEAR suspension from MLB
Tony replied to Kyyle23's topic in The Diamond Club
I didn’t go super hard in the paint, but I’ll absolutely say I joined in on the Bauer bashing. If this is all true, and I assume it was…he deserves apologies from a ton of people, and she should be in jail. -

https://x.com/baueroutage/status/1708904525724270659?s=42&t=Nd9oJCYs4TMp8_32NrPiMA Two sides to every story, but Bauer comes out looking fairly well here. -
If it happens, they probably can’t pass on Harrison Jr, but they need an edge rush SO badly. And I don’t know how they find a real impact DE without using a 1st rounder
-
This is also where I think all the losing catches up to you. You do it enough, it’s who you are. He’s a loser. Not blaming the coaching all either, it’s on Fields, but I think if he had more experience with GW drives, maybe the end of the game and the Tampa games look different

Congrats all around on 100. Proud day

Urlacher made it special. Cover 2 can't work in the front 4 don't do their jobs. Tommie Harris, Tank, Alex Brown, Adewale Ogunleye, etc are the guys that are the key. Need layers obviously, but I agree with Jason here. I don't care if you have HOF's or not in your secondary, if a QB has 4-5 seconds to throw, corners don't have a chance. It all starts at the line
-
Even with what we've seen the first three weeks, it doesn't make any sense this season to bench him. I just don't know what it accomplishes.
-
So here's a question. What happens if Fields "puts it together" around Week 10. While I don't think it will happen, for the sake of the argument, what happens if he starts looking great. What do you do then? To me, that's not a big enough sample size to make an investment in him, so at this point...is the decision made?
-
Can't really have it both ways. If the Bears were wrong on Fields and the rest of the league is smarter...than what are you going to get for Fields on the trade market? Additionally, as others have said, I don't think the Bears went all in on Fields at all. It makes their job WAY easier if Fields ended up being "the guy" But you hedge by getting that extra Carolina first to have enough capital to do something to put yourself in a position to draft a QB if Fields ended up laying an egg. You use last years first on Stroud, you don't get much back for Fields, there is the chance Fields hits and Stroud doesn't, and now you look bad, and they also were able to acquire DJ Moore, who is still a very good WR in any other offense.

I don't even think it's that, it's all just cliche's out of the coaches press conference playbook. I understand different philosophies and not taking the approach of throwing players under the bus or going really hard, but that's not even what I'm asking for. I'm just asking for a bit of transparency and being realistic. As you said, which I agree with, it's ok to say "That was awful and unacceptable. We all got to get better in a hurry to turn this thing around. It's on all of us, right now, to dig deep and be the team we know we are." Instead, we got him talking about how they didn't have a lot of time to practice with each other, this is a new team and it's going to take time for this team to gel. YOU made the choice to not play multiple people in the preseason. You have the worst defense in the league since taking over, and you can't point to a single player that has gotten better since you arrived. You're 3-17 with the Bears. I need to hear a little more sense of urgency after your 13th straight loss, you absolute douche. Sorry, that was a rant on Flus, not you. But I'm just so sick of the bullshit from this city. We deserve so, so much better.
-
I do not understand from a simple PR perspective how these coaches think they are being effective taking the route they do postgame. Just listend to Flus meet the media. "We gotta keep working. There are some good things here. We gotta keep sticking to the system, keep hammering it, things will break for us." Why should we think your system is right? You're 3-17 as a Head Coach. No one is getting better. You just got destroyed. Keeping sticking to it? Sticking to WHAT? Just unreal.
-
It’s not really a choice, because they’d just be repeating the same cycle of lame duck coach getting to pick the QB, then firing said coach after the season. Clean house, let a new regime pick their guy
-
They aren’t even fun bad. It’s such a BORING watch, my god
-
Because if we can all see it coming a mile away, it signals that nothing will change. In almost every other circumstance, when a GM and President are fired, it feels like a fresh start/new direction. The Sally Perez stuff has been talked about well before Hahn and Williams were let go, but even though both of them are gone, it STILL seems like a foregone conclusion he’ll be on this team in 2024. It’s just such a “White Sox move” and we all know now that means Jerry, not even Kenny and Rick. We also know how the Sox will view that move, putting a ton of weight and value into adding someone like Perez. I absolutely believe with all my heart Jerry believes he’ll add 10 wins to this team because of leadership.

Always has his finger on the pulse of the conversation haha
