  1. Had all the time in the world. Not a line issue, not a WR issue. It's there for him, and it's still not happening.
  2. That drive was such a perfect summation of him thus far. Makes some great throws, then looks like a high schooler. Those last few plays make me think he's just not the guy
  3. No. They will be bad. But they will have a number of young players that should be major contributors to the next "great" team. And Bedard should give most fans a reason to watch every night.
  4. Those are the least surprising comments ever. Anyone with even a slight sliver of interest in the White Sox know that's been the case for decades.
  5. Been a real bad 24 hours for NY Football
  6. What's sad is this isn't even a everything the team needs, you're still missing items.
  7. Was at the PJ show tonight, very cool moment. But Seabrook should be up there too
  8. He's probably in line for a 1 year prove it deal at this point. If he can somehow put together a decent 2024, he'll only be 30 and could sign a large 3-4 year deal...but not after this season.
  9. Expect to be disappointed
  10. I mean, you've been around for a while. Has there ever been a shred of evidence to tell us that's not EXACTLY what Jerry's plan has always been?
  11. lol, god that would be perfect. He's perfect for what they're doing out in LAA
  12. If you listened to what Jerry and Getz said about the “core,” thinking major pieces are going to be traded is a mistake. I don’t care that Rick and Kenny are gone. We know how this is going to play out. Instead of banking on actually infusing talent, they’ll fall back on subjective intangibles like “leadership” helping turn this around. Enter Sally Perez and others. They’ll patch holes with 2nd rate free agents, and rely on Moncada, Anderson, Eloy, Vaughn, and others to “bounce back” because of how much they believe in this “core” If they’re lucky, they’ll be around .500 and it will be considered a win.
  13. I don't want to split hairs, but I think Jerry means evaluate the entire organization, get to know who is who, who does what, what else needs to be staffed, etc. That would take some time, but I have no idea why would you want to rush this. Well, I have some idea, I guess I just don't agree with it.
  14. But that is sort of the root of the problem, in that sentence. He doesn't see things the way we do. And quite frankly, we've been proven right far more than he has.
  15. As we all know, it’s very common for 87 year olds to change their ways…
  16. This is the full quote. “When I came to grips with the idea of that idea that maybe I needed to make a change, I still didn’t know if I needed to, I started to talk to everyone in the baseball department. Just wanting to know what they were observing, what needs to be changed. Chris was one of the people I talked to, I talked to a number of people in the baseball department. Then I got convinced I needed to make a change. I started thinking about who’s out there. You don’t make a change unless you know you can improve. So I pretty much know who all the potential candidates out there, and there are some good guys out there, guys that can be GM’s, guys that have been GM’s. So my first feeling was I’ll interview an internal candidate then I’ll ask permission to interview these other guys. But then it moved me to the thought of what I owe the fans. And I think I owe the fans to get better as fast as we can. Speed is of the essence. I don’t want this to be a long term proposition. In the meantime, I don’t know how many conversations I had with Chris, but it became clear to me he would be one of the major candidates, along with these outside candidates. And then when I started thinking of the speed I owe the fans, if I bring in someone from the outside, it will take them a year. He’s gonna have to evaluate everyone in the organization. So you lose a year. And here I had someone inside and very very competitive and might have been the guy if I had talked to these other guys, so I the thought was if I got a guy on the inside that can do the job, why not do it inside and save a year.”
  17. Two key quotes: “When I came to grips with the idea of that idea that maybe I needed to make a change, I still didn’t know if I needed to, I started to talk to everyone in the baseball department. Just wanting to know what they were observing, what needs to be changed. Chris was one of the people I talked to, I talked to a number of people in the baseball department. 18. I’m listening now. It’s mostly bullshit but Waddle and Silvy literally asked all the right questions
  19. um, I believe it's "Milktoast"
  20. Simply put, all bias aside, Getz is not ready or prepared for this press conference
  21. What's really sad is if you're going to bring on an internal person, they can at least speak to specifics. He's not doing any of that, it's all Hahn-speak. I don't understand how they don't "get this" A press conference by nature is for the press to have access to important people, and disseminate the message to the fan base. So you're talking to your customers here. Why do they believe these type of prepared answers are going to sell anyone on any of this?
  22. Jerry not wanting to "waste" a year is going to look hilarious in September 1, 2024 when they are eyeing another 100 loss season.
