I’m guessing the double negative at the beginning was an accident? Although if it was on purpose I’d agree with him. It’s possible he doesn’t think spending money is a smart investment simply because they’ve...made poor investments? I guess none of it really matters, as he has the ultimate say. I just personally disagree that his approach is the best at cultivating a strong fanbase/revenues.

Agreed profits are the goal, but it isn’t as though profits and winning are mutually exclusive. If the decision to hire La Russa for personal reasons damages the direction of the franchise, that’s obviously not good for anybody.

Criticism is fine, and people can post whatever they like. But even last night some acting like giolito’s little meltdown was grandal’s fault, as an example. It’s just silly at that point. It’s a message board, so ultimately who gives a shit. Just saying.

The scapegoating of grandal has gotten a little out of hand. I understand it’s just love for the team manifesting itself in weird ways, but if you’re going to have an irrational hate for a stranger try to be less irrational about it. As Steve brule says, it’s for your health.

I actually think grandal’s game calling has taken a step forward this year. His bat has been awful, obviously. Underlying metrics seem to believe it’s a fluke, but the shift has really been killing him and it isn’t going away anytime soon.
